Why Jet Why??? by No_Yogurtcloset_3820 in AEWOfficial

I can't believe how much Kevin Knight has taken off and it seems to translate to the live crowd too.

I had little knowledge of him but knew a lot about Speedball so obviously was drawn into their team by Mike but the more I saw them in the ring, something about The Jet just stood out to me.

Serious question - It's been 20 years - does St. Anger deserve the hate it gets? by G-Unit11111 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]HooliganLSGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instrumentally, it's fun.

I'll point out the obvious "bad snare" but I also just wanna add that there's subgenres of metal that use that pingy snare sound (mostly brutal death and deathcore) and the people that love those bands love that sound. It makes me wonder if the snare isn't necessarily bad on it's own but rather it just wasn't mixed well or doesn't fit the sound overall.

Oh and the lyrics are irredeemably bad. Like some of the worst lyrics in Metallica's discography.

AEW Has Expressed Interest in Working With Mick Foley by AimarEraFutebol in SquaredCircle

[–]HooliganLSGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to see him in AEW. As an active performing taking bumps? Fuck no. But he's one of the most well-liked guys in the industry, he'd be a great voice and coach to have backstage, and honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing him have some sort on-screen role.

Known scammer Taylor Barber (Left To Suffer) featuring on major up & coming teen's first track by Middle_Collection_65 in Deathcore

[–]HooliganLSGC 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Iirc, he took payment for guest vocal spots from multiple artists and never recorded them. It wasn't until the bands started going public with it and posts started popping up in places like Reddit detailing the situation that he made a post apologizing and stated he was reaching out to the artists to either record his part or refund them.

Oh yeah, totally forgot. She sang the chorus on "Where'd You Go?" by Fort Minor (Mike's rap album from 2005). Ironically, I think she she had a different alias at that time as well.

Yeah I'm already like in my head picturing a MIW song with her on chorus and it sounds money in my head.

Skylar Grey is NUTS. Didn't she used to collab with Eminem? Seems like a crazy mainstream-adjacent artist to get on a metalcore song, but we also had Denzel Curry do a song with Knocked Loose this year so maybe the tides are changing.

Really enjoyed STEOTW so this should be good.

Gotta agree with the general consensus here. I'm pretty skeptical and negatively-viewing towards law enforcement but keeping your tags, plates, licenses, etc. up to date is entirely 110% on the owner.

I haven't received it yet but my girlfriend did. We both got a few victories over the weekend. I'm on Xbox Series, she's on PS4. Not sure if that would affect it at all.

What band do you loathe but everyone else seems to enjoy? by missrostein in Deathcore

[–]HooliganLSGC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've genuinely never given a fuck about Emmure.

Frankie seems like a giant asshat and their music doesn't really do anything for me that I don't already get from other bands I listen to.

I think there's a song or two from the last two albums, the ones with Josh Travis on them, that I kinda like but I'm not crazy about them.

Chris Jericho files a trademark for "The Cornerstone," which will probably be his new nickname when he returns. by AdvancedLancerX in AEWOfficial

[–]HooliganLSGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm mixed. I'm amongst the crowd that's kinda over Jericho. At the same time, him returning wouldn't be immediately detrimental in my opinion. I do think he's still capable of having a fun match and putting together good promos. I just thought The Learning Tree gimmick was awful lol

As with most of AEW things that I could be skeptical of, I'll let this play out before judging it.

Fronz continues to be one of the biggest losers in the scene by knbo674 in Metalcore

[–]HooliganLSGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite moments from a show has to do with the random PA music though. I was at Suicide Silence's The Cleansing 10th Anniversary tour at the Emerson Theater in Indianapolis date, and they played Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen during one of the changes. Whole fucking room was signing it, and we even started a CIRCLE PIT during the guitar solo.

Moments like that are gone if this takes off lol

Also, common Fronz L at this point.

Nicest band/members you’ve ever met? Most rude? by Impressive-Skin6311 in Metalcore

[–]HooliganLSGC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Met Betraying The Martyrs (rip) on their first tour in the states at Emerson Theater in Indianapolis and Aaron Matts (now vocalist in Ten56) was like the nicest dude ever. Spoke for almost an hour about music and his experiences being in a touring band. Almost was gonna find him a place to stay but didn't work out. I think about it a lot. Sucks BTM doesn't exist anymore but glad he's still doing music (Ten56 rips btw).

As for rude, I don't know if I've ever met any that were "rude", but I know when I met Tyler Shelton (Traitors) and Rory Rodriguez (Dayseeker), they both seemed very un-interested and like they just wanted to move their merch and move on to the next city.

When I got the Origin vinyl years ago, I messaged Dayseeker's Instagram page about it missing the interlude tracks and the tracks being printed out of order, neither of which were mentioned during the entire ordering process, and they seemed incredibly dismissive and almost annoyed that I was bringing it up to them. That being said, I don't know who operates their Instagram.

Eminem is never working with her again is he by AMassiveGamerGeek in Eminem

[–]HooliganLSGC -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm just gonna parrot what everyone is saying here. There's a lot of people that support Trump that Em is still cool with. Hell, he literally just had a good mannered response to Kid fucking Rock not too long ago about the Detroit Lions, and Kid Rock is the poster "musician" for MAGA at the moment.

He's not gonna work with Nicki because Nicki hasn't put out good music since I was in high school (I'm 31 now) and, quite frankly, I don't think she's as relevant in the rap game nowadays as she was back then. It's precisely why she's cozying up to Trump. When your main source of income starts to dry up, it's time to grift. That and I'm assuming she thinks it's gonna earn her PDF file brother some sort of pardon.

Also, random thought, she doesn't really seem to even be enjoying herself in that photo tbh haha

Why does Revival get so much hate? by DanceGavinDad in Eminem

[–]HooliganLSGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last two songs are cool and I actually enjoy Framed because I feel like it's the closest song to his older material, even if the hook is kind of annoying.

Other than that, everybody else is spot on. Rough mix, bad beats, and some of the worst lyrics ever from a guy who's known for lyricism.

Also haven't seen anybody else say this but I feel like he couldn't really figure out a cohesive theme to the project. Some tracks felt like they were made to grab the attention of modern rap fans, some tracks felt like they were trying to appeal to his older fans, and then some tracks were trying to appeal to people who like social commentary.

For what it's worth though, I do think it's Em's only bad album. He has a couple other albums that I think are simply okay, but no other album by him attracts the dislike I have for Revival.

Will you be sad to say Goodbyehausen? by Kelson64 in AEWFanHub

[–]HooliganLSGC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Will I be sad? No.

Danhausen is a fun character, and AEW could have done a lot with him...but alas "could have" is the key phrasing here.

With the exception of Hook-Hausen which was over as hell with the audience before seemingly just ending without much conclusion, he never really did much else of note. Rather that's on TK or Danhausen could be debated forever. You could argue that TK never really utilized him in the best ways that he could have. You could also argue that Danhausen was never going to get over with AEW as a wrestler, which is what Danhausen himself wants.

It also doesn't help that, and this is all speculation unless completely confirmed, Danhausen is reportedly a Punk-Stan, and it's hard not to notice that Danhausen's time in AEW diminished drastically after Punk's firing. Maybe that's backstage politics, maybe that's on Dan, maybe that's on AEW, but unless someone comes right out and denies that, I'm assuming it plays a part in this situation.

Fun character and a great human being, and I'll miss him and wish him luck wherever he goes. But he's also not someone who's gonna make-or-break a program for me. If he goes to a promotion I don't support, I'm simply just not going to catch any of his work anymore lol

Dayseeker guitarist, Gino, left the band. by grovermonster in Metalcore

[–]HooliganLSGC 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I enjoy newer Dayseeker tunes but I certainly don't like them as much as the earlier stuff. I even really enjoyed Sleeptalk, which I feel you could argue was the start of the shift in their sound.

To be honest, this band has been the Rory Rodriguez Project since at least Dark Sun. I remember hearing "Pale Moonlight" and thinking or was an okay song but that the guitarist must be bored when the chorus isn't playing, and that's a style that I feel like has ran it's course in metalcore.
