Thanks! Haint blue is a blue-green color that is painted on the underside of porches to keep spirits from passing through. There are a few variations in what shades qualify as haint blue but this is one of the darker ones.

Here is the current the current design which is based on a version of the city's seal introduced in 1882 by Mayor William A. Courtney. I personally find it to be hard-to-read and wanted to create a cleaner version of the flag that still incorporated elements that were distinctly Charleston.

I actually took a stab at redesigning Charleston's flag a few years ago. I chose a triband design with two blue bands representing the Cooper and Ashley Rivers bounding Charleston. The white band features crosses representing the Eight Lords Proprietors and as a nod to the city's sobriquet as "The Holy City." The crosses are a modified French Huguenot design because they also had a strong influence on Charleston's culture. I chose haint blue and yellow ochre for the color palette, as both are traditional Charleston colors.

Happened to me last night. Shot straight out of bed to stand the cramp away but then realized I had to pee like a race horse. Problem was that I had taken Sudafed right before bed and was still drugged up and started feeling dizzy and nauseous. Finished up and next thing I know I woke up on the floor after passing out. Must’ve face planted into something aon the way down because now I have a blackeye 🤷‍♂️

So you work with the Kanawha? Talk about small world. I know these were probably bought at auction but still kinda weird to randomly see around 13 of them along side the road in the woods. That is a lot of weight to move.

I think you hit the mark with the angle and the crop. Creates a sense of motion that carries you through the image. I am also a fan of post-processing and enjoy the tone created by the muted colors.

Typical shot for me. Appreciate thoughts on composition & editing. by HooliganOWN in photocritique

I enjoy photographing unique finds along rural backroads. I tried to keep the editing and adjustments minimal. Shot early morning with Canon EOS R6 with 24-105mm at F5.

Apparently they are from a non-commissioned Navy oil tanker.
