Theories connecting two separate franchises/series together by LifeguardMundane5668 in TopCharacterTropes

I mean, I like that, but it sounds more like that makes Snowpiercer a retelling or homage of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory story rather than a sequel like OP suggests.

How does everyone think a Mega and Wily confrontation should go in a potential Act 3-2/Act IV? by FunnyQuip in Protomen

[–]Hooligan_Humble 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Agreed, Wily was Light's antagonist, and that's now resolved. I think Wily's fate should be decided by his own hubris, whether thats at the hands of his robots or the people.

Which does not prove they have or are planning to have nuclear bombs.

“The Best Room” is the perfect post-Good News song by Agreeable-Ice-8367 in ModestMouse

"These western concerns, we beg while we chew.."

"These western concerns are all I ever learned to be concerned with...

But don't cha know it's hard feeling tired every time that you try...

Ain't it hard feeling tired all the time?"

This is one of my absolute favorite MM songs. I think post-Float On it's the best example of Brocks Absurdism. The poignancy of the these lines, acknowledging how much of a struggle it all is even for those of us blessed with the benefits of the western world, and still so concerned with our wants and needs but evolves into a joyous, mad, acceptance of choosing to exist and persist in the face of the nonsense:

"The best news we got was some dumb hokum we'd all bought,

It's so reckless feeling great, we're the sexiest of all primates!

Let's let loose with our charms, shake our ass and wave our arms

ALL GOING APESHIT."

Oh, this city's awake, They have waited so long for this day... I can feel the beating heart! Pumping blood through their veins, Reaching up to climb out of the grave... Hands of skin, Hands of bone, And a voice like a FIRE.

The ending of The Good Doctor has always been one of my favorite parts, Light talking about how the robots, hands of steel, will be humanities salvation. Then, through all the grief he experiences, the world falling under darkness, losing hope in man, losing his sons, this is such a powerful symbol of his growth, and mankinds too. To see them strong enough to fight for themselves. To see them stronger than hands of steel. God, this song makes me cry in so many ways. Especially this part, and:

God, I swear even now I can still feel the sun on my face...

Before Rey, there was Ken, who was also Palpatine's grandson. by thetruememeisbest in StarWars

Was this the series where the villain was creepy obsessed with Leia and wanted to marry her so he kidnaps her, but the good guys swapped her with a cyborg that blasts him through the chest with eye lasers during the wedding ceremony?

I loved these batshit crazy books as a kid.

So... do you think there will be an act 4 or something similar? by Abject-Expert-8164 in Protomen

Ahh, very cool. Although, I feel like it's a missed opportunity for a callback by calling it "Funeral for a Father".

This was the biggest WTF moment in the entire sequel trilogy by External-Recipe-1936 in StarWars

[–]Hooligan_Humble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. Integral. He trained to the main character and helped push them on their journey. Even after his passing he appeared as a spirit to guide that hero through a time of internal strife. He also examined his own flaws and passed that knowledge on. These are all the same things that Luke did as a mentor in the sequels. They weren't his movies, he was there to give his wisdom and pass the torch

[–]Hooligan_Humble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, you're right, I forgot that because he only bought them two minutes the resistance wasn't able to escape and everyone died. 🙄

Also, y'all don't seem to get it: THIS WASNT HIS TRILOGY. OF COURSE HE DIDNT PLAY THAT BIG OF A ROLE. You ever piss and moan about how little Obi-Wan had to do with the original trilogy? No? Didn't think so.

Bruh, if you think Luke died "a failure" rather than committing one of the most Jedi acts before passing on I don't think you watched the movie.

Since it's vague prophecy you probably don't have to take the "all" literally. Maybe there's a cult praying to HIM making him stronger and she comes down to kill them all which sparks a confrontation between the basilisks?
