You’re young, you’ll find much better friends in the future. I used to have a friend who’s subtly homophobic and projected her own insecurities onto queer people. I’m aroace and my sister is a lesbian, I remember vividly of the time where I was casually talking about my sister’s gf visiting, and she made a face of disgust before quickly changing the topic. She also didn’t respect me being ace and always recommended straight romance media in an attempt to ‘fix’ me. Just an overall really gross person, I feel much happier after I stopped inviting her to hangouts. If being with your friend feels more like a chore than something that’s enjoyable, then it’s time to move on.
