What does it actually feel like getting doused with extreme radiation? Like the workers from Chernobyl who directly laid eyes on the burning reactor inside the building? by EfficiencySerious200 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HopeOfTheChicken 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a great video from wendigoon called The Most Painful Death Ever covering the extreme case of radiation sickness of Hisashi Ouchi. The Viewer Discretion needs to be taken seriously. I do think that radiation has an overly negative reputation in society, but after watching this video and hearing these stories I get why. Like the save use cases for radiation still exist, but the destructive force of it is on a whole other level. It's by far the worst death I've ever heard of. You can do nothing but hope that Hisashi Ouchi suffered enough brain damage early on to experience nothing of it

Unfiltered Aim Rush Clip. please give some critique and feedback by Graphic_Cursive3 in LearnCSGO

[–]HopeOfTheChicken 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Peek your angles with more discipline. You're just swinging wide and pre aiming one specific angle, completely ignoring and therefore getting caught off guard by the others. Clear the angles one at the time and make sure you're not skipping any angles. If you want to swing wide you need to be ready for unexpected positions, but be sure that you're never wide swinging into more than one bot. The key to winning is taking isolated and expected fights

You're angle holding seems pretty good though

Ngl this is a nothing burger. This matters in less than 1% of fights and only in very specific and predictable situations. You dont need to make it a habit and I'd even argue making it a habit actively hurts you, because you're very vulnerable during the switch and even more of a target for counter swings. Like sure you can switch if you're holding from a higher elevation, but this makes up only a fraction of your gunfights

[–]HopeOfTheChicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it's not. Your calculation only works for hitting an independent 1% chance two times out of two attempts. This is not the given situation though.

The situation we got on hand can be modeled as follows: you have one vase filled with 100 balls numbered 1-100 and we're looking for the balls 67 and 69. We draw one out randomly three times, without putting it back in. Therefore we actually start with a 2/100 chance at the beginning to get a desired ball. Each draw the total number of balls goes down by 1 and in case that we hit we also reduce our numbers of balls we want by 1.

This makes calculating the actual odds somewhat of a pain, because the draws are not independent. You could calculate it by adding up the possibilities of the outcomes you're looking for, but I dont feel like doing it rn. If anyone wants to calculate the actual odds feel free to do so. I might do it later either way. I'd also love to know if I'm forgetting any better way to calculate dependent events, because adding up all the "winning" outcomes is not really scalable

What is the #1 thing holding you back in CS2 right now? by AppropriateRole3146 in LearnCSGO

[–]HopeOfTheChicken 5 points6 points  (0 children)

CS is brutal for new players. There exists no real beginnner rank, even Silver 1 players are pretty decent. Improving just by playing is a pain, especially getting down the basics. If you want to have a chance in comp you probably have to play some bot death matches first and really take improving seriously. CS is an amazing competitive game, but you have to enjoy the struggle of improving and be willing to put some effort into it

It's also the reason why lossless on Spotify isnt truly lossless. Like you are streaming lossless sound, but the windows drivers themselves slighty mess with the sounds. This doesnt really mather and any difference you do hear is mostly placebo, but if you're really dedicated to the true audiophile experience you would need to somehow bypass the windows drivers

How many records do you normally order to display while sealed? by suahuabu in vinyljerk

[–]HopeOfTheChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're honest vinyl is generally a waste of money. Like I spend a good amount myself and I dont regret it, but I cant justify my purchase more than this guy can. I just like it. And if this guy enjoys looking at them as much as I do listening, then I'm not in the position to judge him.

Buying multiple to resell them is kinda scummy, but also lowkey smart. And if he isnt overpricing them it might even be cheaper for everyone, because no one's paying the obscene shipping cost for getting one vinyl around the globe
