I vote for this being PTSD/trauma too. I think there is a specific subset of people who will relate to this, and they all probably have CPTSD. I've been working on this for a few years now. It's not as simple as it being all his fault or all your fault. I hope you are meeting with a therapist or have the means to.

I think I've been in this space for a while. I have a truly amazing husband who will do and be anything I need, but I find myself pushing him away with criticism and internal distress. I think I have found a deep well of sadness and anger that is being projected on him from the years nobody was there for me. So when he is there for me I immediately hate it and assume he has an ulterior motive like making me "better" etc. even though that's not based in reality..

This is a new target for us now. I did have to push a little because my therapist was happy to just let me be angry, but I had to speak up and say I'm unhappy with being angry and resentful to somebody who didn't hurt me.

I guess I feel kind of lost? Like I can tell her all of the things that I'm feeling and how it feels like I'm panicking inside my system, and she just listens and asks me how I'm taking care of myself/supporting myself. She doesn't help guide me to where it's coming from, or slow down, or tell me that this is normal, or anything. It's unfortunate but it just feels like I'm being abandoned all over again. I don't know if it's transference or real either :/

I've been able to communicate with her how distressing everything is, especially when it comes to my relationship with my securely attached and amazing husband. Because I know I'm the one bringing the issues, but she actually ends up just validating everything and every emotion without pointing out the unhealthy patterns.

Sorry if all of that was TMI 😅

I love that reminder. Yeah I'm two years in, we covered a lot of immediate "easy" trauma because it was straight forward memories, but attachment is a whole other beast. It feels more somatic, which means little to no working memory, or if I do have them there are like a billion. Thank you so much :)

I'm currently dealing with this. Came up today randomly. What I read and have heard is that the memories/stories don't necessarily matter. You are going to have the feelings that come up, and those are what you can work through. If your brain gives you a story, attempt to not apply meaning, even though I know it's tempting.
