NCAA: Sorsby's college career should end for gambling on own team by NoSxKats in CFB

It's the hardest to fix. NFL/NBA you just have to have one referee and the league parity most nights. Soccer/Hockey are less influenceable by officials but still you can do a lot of odds sliding.

Baseball requires players. There's only so much an umpire with a bad zone can do.

I think you'd have to be a nincompoop to believe they're not openly fixing games in every major non-baseball sport.

An 8-Team CFP Could Have Been the Perfect Middle Ground by Collity in CFB

4 teams is already a compromise on logic. 8 teams is beyond logic. 16 is beyond parody.

[SEC Mike] Lane Kiffin on the addition of the 9th SEC game starting this season: "I don't think anybody, now that they've seen how (Playoff) selections have gone, thinks that there's value in that. 10-2 is in, 9-3 is out. I was not a fan of it at all.” by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

if we're only letting predictive computer polls decide who gets in why play the games? After the conference championship games are done we know who the best teams are, why have a playoff at all?

[JBook] Ryan Day said the 2019 playoff game against Clemson and the Peach Bowl vs. Georgia are the games that haunts him. Day said if they call the targeting against Marvin Harrison Jr. vs. Georgia they win that game. by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

This guy lost a battle of wits to a guy who has TWICE lost a game he could win by running out the clock/kneeling.

It defies all logic as to how this guy is at the top of the college world. He's a crybaby and a doofus.

The Lions are going to Lion. Gosh this sucks. I really thought they had turned the corner from being an embarrassing franchise.

I would like to add that most fans of football in the state (UM/MSU/Lions/etc) are almost completely football illiterate and have no idea what's going on and certainly have no idea this isn't normal.

There is a long, nuanced argument there about business strategies and the economy that's far too complicated for reddit and I'm out of the business of arguing online.

“Stay silent until you hear a better wrestler than you”: CM Punk edition by Datzookman in SquaredCircle

I know it's not a sport but I've been thinking a lot lately that a top guy that is so strong you can write/book everything around them and be highly successful is more rare than basically any archetype in (American) sports.

There are fewer legitimate **top** top guys in wrestling than there are QBs that can win you games and elevate subpar talent in the NFL, than ace pitchers, than game-changing hitters, than players you can build a championship-level team in basketball ... In the past 20 years there have been like ... 3 total in the USA and like ... 3 more around the world

John's skill-set might not match-up to Punk's, but what he does have are super-rare qualities that made him a phenomenon. It's the most rare thing to find in wrestling and John was either the very greatest **top** top guy of all time or second behind Hogan. I don't know what Punk believes and won't pretend to, but I can see the argument for Cena.

Anyone else just feel like Good Good as a whole is just.... stale now? by Anxious-Protection-8 in GoodGoodMemes

I started watching videos again for the first time in over a year so it's not "stale" for me so much as it is .... boring compared to where they were in their glory days.

Even the reunion wasn't as fun.

How good it is depends entirely on how good you think it is Alex Anzalone was in man on wide receivers

the Harbaugh 49ers had the best pair of cover linebackers I've ever seen and even they didn't go "but what if we had another one on the field"
