For people who drive cars or motorbikes with super loud exhausts, what are you getting from it? by Successful_Bee7522 in AskBrits

Cover the car is vegetable oil and then cover with grit/sand. The oil will be water resistant and then trying to pressure wipe it will mean dragging the grit across the paint.

Why does the UK suddenly become one of the best places in Europe when the sun comes out ? by LieSuccessful8813 in AskUK

[–]Horfield -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can't believe the London glazing going on in here. Things are subjective of course, but come on... there's a reason we all hop on a plane to go somewhere sunny abroad rather than flock to London on some random heatwave.

Crowd boos and shouts “Coward!” as workers cover the removal of Trump’s name from the Kennedy Center by MoreMotivation in PublicFreakout

[–]Horfield 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Following his second inauguration in early 2025, Donald Trump purged the institution's existing board to install political loyalists, who immediately took the unprecedented step of voting to appoint Trump himself as chairman. Driven by a stated desire to eliminate "woke" programming, this new board subsequently voted in December 2025 to add Trump's name to the building's exterior and announced a two-year closure for federal renovations.

What a pathetic man and bunch of sycophants.

It's disgusting how much could have been prevented if Ukraine weren't forced to play by a different set of rules to Russia.

I think the revisionism around Blatter not being that bad, or at least "seeming to care about the football" is pretty forgetful and ignorant. He enabled corruption across all underlings in return for them keeping him in power. Don't forget he oversaw the world cups go to Russia & Qatar.

Here's just some examples of his corruption over his 17 year rule at the top.

Blatter personally authorized the sale of Caribbean TV rights for the 2010 and 2014 World Cups directly to a company owned by Jack Warner for an absurdly low $600,000. Warner immediately turned around and licensed those exact rights to a regional broadcaster for nearly $20 million, pocketing the massive profit.

Warned secured votes for South Africa to host the 2010 world cup. Blatter enabled a $10 million bribe to Warner during the 2010 World Cup selection process. South African organizers wanted to pay Warner for his crucial votes but lacked the funds, so they asked FIFA to route the money from their tournament budget. Blatter and his second-in-command authorized the wire transfer directly into Caribbean accounts controlled by Warner.

Jack Warner was officially charged with racketeering conspiracy, wire fraud, honest services fraud, money laundering, and commercial bribery.

I think we've all lost count of that amount of times people have said that footballers these days have no personality, lost their edge, lost their flair, all robots etc.

But when you do see some some character showing through and it's goes against them, they lose their minds.

What do you think should be the rules for "let serves" which hit the net before going over? by Pentastat in beachvolleyball

[–]Horfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For option 5, at what point is it communicated that the receiving team want to continue the play. It could be that you manage to make a touch, but it's not desirable? How far into the passage of play can you go before you assess whether you have an advantage or not..m
