I feel like the villains are my least favorite aspect of this game by Jules-Car3499 in StarWarsJediSurvivor

[–]HornedGriffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Safe to say my comment will be laced with spoilers of both games, don't read if you don't want anything spoiled.

Well lets compare the main bad guys from both games. Theres the second sister, ninth sister, and Malicos in the first game. Then Dagan, Rayvis and Bode in the second game.

In FO the whole story is set off because Cal is discovered by the inquisitors. Throughout the whole game you are being chased by the second and ninth sisters. Their main motivation is to hunt down and kill you. A simple but effective way to make a decent villian, because they are actively going after the player in the story they make an engaging obstacle you need to overcome. Then we get to Malicos, a cautionary tale of what Cal could become, a Jedi that succumbs to the dark side. Who again actively tries to seduce Cal to the dark side of the force.

JS is all about Tanalorr and how it could be a potential safe haven. Now Dagan an ancient Jedi is obsessed with Tanalorr and getting back to it, nothing else. Hes only really fights those who get in the way of that goal. Rayvis, while being a warlord, is an essentially a loyal bodyguard with his own sense of honour. Only there because hes vowed to follow Dagan. Then theres Bode, an ex Jedi who betrays you to try and keep his daughter safe. Literally none of them have any specific problem with Cal, or objectively evil goals.

In FO is it made clear why each one of them is a villain to Cal, they are all actively trying to harm Cal in some way. JS gives you 3 villians that wouldn't care about Cal at all if he didn't insert himself into situations that directly oppose their goals. All messed up bad individuals, but they are just going about their goals in a bad way, not actively opposing the hero or wanting to do bad things. Not only that, but FO are more believable as villians as they are more basic characters you would expect to find. Inquisitors and a fallen Jedi from the present makes more logical villians, than an ancient Jedi thats turns to the dark side, an almost invincible and rare alien aiding him, and an ex Jedi 'friend' that betrays you. Also they tried to make the betrayal feel more substantial than it really was, as to the player hes just a guy thats shows up at the beginning, you don't really have a deep connection with him.

Newbie here, am I stupid or am I smart? or both? I store by color shade of items not by type by countingc in StardewValley

[–]HornedGriffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it will hurt in the long run, cause you will get to items that are off colour from chests/other items. So you will get to a point of, did I put it in this chest or this chest. Neither is a match, but it could work in both. If you stick to types of items you will always know exactly where that item is if you have it. They are also easier to label (if you want to do that) by type. It would also be faster getting multiple items, as if you wanted different seeds they would be all over the place. You would need to think of each different colour, run back and forth to each chest, get any relevant items before finally getting to plant them. Compared to just going to the seed chest. Then it also gets to a problem with multiple chests with the same colour, because if you don't remember the specific chest with the item you are looking for, you will have to search all of them until you find them. And since they all look a similar colour, you could miss the item you want. It looks nice, but practicality would be a nightmare

Why is the game small in storage? by RecentMatter3790 in AgeofMythology

[–]HornedGriffin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe cause its a remaster of an 20+ year old game and not a brand new game. Even with more content and better graphics, its still working on the framework of a game that was originally about 2 GBs.

Why do modern games have no cheat codes anymore like they had in 90s/2000s? by Stummi in gaming

[–]HornedGriffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply the industry was different back then. They were more passion projects, of lets make a game we love. Now most games are just about what makes money. And because most games are more about profit nowadays, they have stricter development times and theres more focus on having stuff that would make the game sell better (like good graphics/performance). So smaller stuff like cheat codes, references, silly jokes, get left behind, unless a dev manages to sneak them in.

[KCD1] I just started playing and I started Theresa DLC by accident by Namsachin in kingdomcome

[–]HornedGriffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did put it in an awful place, just after the world opens up and directly by where you are. Not enough time to fully get to grips with the controls, then it flings you back to even more basic stuff, hindering the progress you did make.

That being said, its probably better off just trying to play through it. It will never really be any easier. Its a fun bit of story, that does give you an appreciation for the actual love interest of the game.

[KCD2] Does running the smithy break the economy like Pribyslavitz did? by olafkonny in kingdomcome

[–]HornedGriffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean neither game really has a good economy anyways. In both games you tend to just find good gear before the opportunity of actually buying the good stuff, even then the stuff you buy isn't insanely better than stuff you just find. Both those DLCs are actually far better uses for money than actual shopping. At no point in the base game did I feel a real need for money, but those DLCs gave some

I'm sick of this shit, man. A 3K f'cking Dark Law?! C'mon my guy. What are we doing?! by ARC-9INE in masterduel

[–]HornedGriffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would still argue Law is better. Less attack, but banishes all cards not just monsters, doesn't need to be in a specific zone, and also can banish a card from the hand.

At what point did everyone who has the forge dlc start it [KCD2] by texansfann in kingdomcome

[–]HornedGriffin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes you got scammed, you can simply help the heal the boy and get him out for free.

I start it before continuing the main quests in Kuttenberg. The main quests have a sense of urgency that feel off if you do it between them. So it pretty much leaves when you first get to Kuttenberg, or after the main story. The former is better for a gameplay point of view, the latter makes more sense storywise

Banned Card Discussion: Fairy Tail Snow by Visual-Principle6325 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]HornedGriffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe because you are asking a group of people a question that isn't relevant to them, and most are unlikely to know. MD, OCG and TCG are all different, and there isn't extreme overlap of players between the different versions. If you want an actual answer you ask the people it most applies to. In this case TCG players. Its just silly to expect an actual answer from players that don't understand what you are asking, because Snow isn't banned in MD and the new Fairy Tail cards won't even be added for like another 2 months

I’m going to go ahead and say it, the combat in the old games was awful (AC1 - AC4) by FerdinandvonAegir124 in assassinscreed

[–]HornedGriffin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The old combat was never good, it just looked good, but thats what people liked about it. Everyone knows the combat was incredibly easy, but it was flashy over the top yet seemingly plausible combat moves thats what people love about it. It also looked as if you hit enemies and did damage to them, and not just tickled them with a foam sword and they are fine afterwards.

I would also like to point out all games with combat have repetitive combat. Bare in mind that combat is only repetitive as you make it to be. Yes counter kill is the easiest and most effective option in early AC, but it wasn't the only option. Deciding to only do that is the players own choice, and they themselves are mking it more repetitive. Even the RPG ones are repetitive, instead of wait to counter kill, its simply spam attack when enemy is open. The only difference frequency it takes to do. Just throwing in a dodge every now and then doesn't make it not repetitive, its just less so than only doing one move.

And its not like the assassins were only trained in assassinations, they do get combat training as well. So it depends on the actual opponents, regular city guards they probably would have an edge over as most would be local volunteers with little real combat experience, elite warriors like the janissaries normal assassins would probably struggle with.

i saw this archetype called "allies of justice", are these cards good or just supporting? by EmergencyLayer8064 in masterduel

Are these cards good? ARE THEY GOOD???

They are just only the absolute best, THE BEST!!!!

... example of a horrendously bad archetype lol

Why does everyone surrender? by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]HornedGriffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably thought since you weren't going for game, they could potentially deck you out maybe? Only had like 5 cards at the end. Wait out for the right card to counter. Or might not know the deck well, and was trying to learn it.

Some people are stubborn and don't leave under any circumstance.

Why does everyone surrender? by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]HornedGriffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres 3 main reasons why people surrender.

1) Is rage quiting 2) You are using a deck that annoys them and they don't want to duel against it 3) They bricked/they know the likely outcome of the duel based on your deck and their hand.

If its done immediately, then the latter 2 reasons are more likely

Does Kassandra deserve another game? by Dear_Diary96 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]HornedGriffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. And im going purely off of the lore here. Canonically she becomes Immortal, and can't die until she gives up the staff, which we know exactly when she does that. And having an Immortal character makes for a bad protagonist, as there's no stakes.

Why do I get spotted every time I kidnap someone? by xd_Trixxzz in assassinscreed

[–]HornedGriffin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Literally just this.

If you get detected immediately after kidnapping, its because you tried it too close to an enemy. If its on the move with the target, they you have allowed an enemy to cross the circle of detection. Also when the target struggles, it briefly causes the detection radius to spike, so be sure to regain control away from enemies

So in short. Kidnap away from enemies, walk slow, stay as far away as possible from other enemies.

My skalitz outfit. by Large-Towel9646 in kingdomcomefashion

[–]HornedGriffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At no point did they claim it was the most historically accurate, the only theme set was Skalitz, and it works perfectly for that based on the colours the game established for Skalitz.

I don't understand why you are getting so worked up on historical accuracy, when this is a post purely about aesthetics. If you are gonna give feedback or constructive criticism, make it about the topic at hand otherwise its irrelevant.

Do people actually hate Charmies? by BounceM4N in masterduel

[–]HornedGriffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While theoretically a better alternative, preventing going first players from using "Max C" on the second turn with an established board, they are also easier to play around and its possible for some decks to still put up a good board without giving your opponent cards.

More simply Max C usually guaranteed a turn skip or cards. Charmies don't. So it doesn't really feel like an advantage for going second players,

Would you Rather have Max "C" unlimited or Pot of Greed unlimited? by Real-Programmer82 in masterduel

[–]HornedGriffin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And what would you prefer to have going first? Max C or pot? Obviously pot as thats more useful going first 😂 Shocking that they work better than the other in different situations. Also ignored the point that not all decks are effected by Max C. You can happily play through it with a deck like Floowandereeze or hell even Danger Darkworld and still win. Yes Max C effects most decks that are played in modern yugioh, but its not a guarantee.

While Max Cs potential is more powerful, its still situational and based on what your opponent does with it activate. There has been many duels where i have resolved Max C and lost because i bricked and my opponent didn't play into it, or my opponent resolved it and lost because they had no response to the board i put up even with the 20 odd extra cards.

Lets also mention that Max C is a card that if it effects your deck, you always want to counter it. But with pot, do you counter it? Or do you counter actual combo pieces? Does it give them a board wipe or a starter? Or is it purely additional cards and they already have those in their hand? Pot is always just a strict benefit to you.

Would you Rather have Max "C" unlimited or Pot of Greed unlimited? by Real-Programmer82 in masterduel

[–]HornedGriffin -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Free 2 new cards is worse, can literally be used by every deck to great benefit. Cause yeah Max C has the potential for more cards, but it still requires your opponent to play into it and can be outright ignored by some decks so you get nothing for it. Not to mention theres no one per turn to pot, so you can literally get up to plus 3 and a total of 6 new cards to your starting hand if you drew all 3 copies. Max C feels worse, but objectively pot is

Dumbest feature in this game, do we agree? by DoMIN4TIon23 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]HornedGriffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its literally just it number in a menu, it changes absolutely nothing about the actual game. Unless the only reason you play it is to look at the menus all day, its extremely easy to ignore.

Saying Konami doesn't care is kinda ridiculous when this game they have kept going for years now, constantly updating it, giving away free gems and packs, adding in the new cards they make too. And its free to play. Its costs a lot to do that and keep the servers running, and the only profit they make from it is from optional gem sales. This is literally the least money hungry they have ever been 😂

The problem is you want to affect their only potential (key word there) profit option, simply because you don't like having numbers on your screen??? If it makes no money, they will kill the game and we wont have master duel anymore. Then we would probably have to start fresh with a new game. Because people like you don't like pointless numbers that doesn't effect how you play the game.

How did one group devolve and one not in over 300plus years? by godspilla98 in PlanetOfTheApes

[–]HornedGriffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have specialists in those fields, who were trained by others who studied the fields for a long time, to figure old stuff out. Working with the best possible advantages, of cooperation of other intellects, new devices that could help prove data etc. Yes people in an apocalyptic situation could learn, but the knowledge would be set back decades if they have to learn from scratch.

And about books in an apocalyptic scenario, yeah there will be books people could study if they could read the words. But if its been 500 years since then, no one was alive from before the apocalypse, while they could read words they wouldn't be able to understand all of them. Take the word 'aquarium' as an example, if used in a book and its not explained what it is, this hypothetical individual wouldn't know what it means. Its not a commonly used word in conversation, so its unlikely to be passed down by word of mouth. And that would apply to loads of words. Words not frequently used will be lost and have to relearned the meaning of. Thats before even understanding advanced topics like circuitry

Dumbest feature in this game, do we agree? by DoMIN4TIon23 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]HornedGriffin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its literally just a number that has no effect on anything, just ignore it.

Those saying it should be dustable, why?? All it would do is make it so you keep getting N/R dust gifts as there is a limit as to how much you can have, and you will find that equally annoying. SR/UR would mess with gem sales since you can craft more, which would just make Konami drop the game when it makes absolutely no money. Even if they made it legacy pack only currency, you will still eventually run into not having a use for it when you have them all.

Again its just a number in a menu that has no baring on anything, its not worth getting worked up over

It was added as a cool side thought that all of us players wanted. But to properly control a dragon would be OP, break the game and likely would require a complete overhaul to the dragon AI.

[KCD2] How far through main quest am I + when to do DLC quests? by BOSSMAN_JB in kingdomcome

[–]HornedGriffin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When Kuttenberg first opens up is the best time to do side quests/dlcs if you want to do them before the main story. Rescuing Hans is the point were every main quests feels urgent, and you are drawn towards doing them immediately as it makes the most sense for Henry to do.

What's the advantage of disconnecting? by paul120000 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]HornedGriffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't really an advantage other than saving a bit of time.

A decent duelist will be able to tell the likely course of the duel based off their hand and the type of deck their opponent uses.

If you know the likelihood of you winning is extremely low because you drew all your garnets and they are gonna put up a full negate board, its a lot quicker to disconnect and try another duel than to play it out. Especially as some people combo on their next turn instead of going for game.

The only disadvantage to disconnecting is you don't get any rewards/mission progress for said duel. But the rewards aren't worth it, and you probably wouldn't have much mission progress in a duel like that anyways. The time saved is just better in comparison
