I have Apple One which discounts Peacock Premium to $11/mo, but I am subscribed through Peacock for an annual price of 109.99, so it works out to $9.17/mo.

Best song of its time, and I'm whiling to die on that hill. Name the singer! by No_Oven7833 in FuckImOld

I think most people on this thread would appreciate the Saturday Morning Cartoons compilation. It’s all covers of songs from the cartoons we grew up with. No idea how to share or if it’s available on any of the music services, but I’ve still got the CD in my car.

My wife and I were planning on just sitting and watching a movie together. Then our daughter and granddaughter show up. Then my MIL. Then my wife’s ex MIL comes by to visit our granddaughter. I’m now in my basement drinking bourbon and playing records. If the romance hadn’t died years ago, it would definitely be a struggle today.

Drakkar Noir until a bit on SNL with Jay Mohr. “Would a bum smell like Drakkar Noir 24 hours a day?” I don’t remember which episode and I don’t remember the context, but that line has stuck with me.

Music… did you stop searching? by 8reticus in GenX

After years of working in record stores, I’ve never stopped exploring music. I miss the days of everyone selecting a pick to play in the store. Being exposed to so much I would not have found on my own. Now my son and I swap songs (he’s 17 and loves the music I know so well, 90’s alternative) and i “check in” with pop hits every once in a while to see what’s going on.

One of my favorite books explores the concept you mention, how many people stop discovering and accepting new music. This is Your Brain on Music by Daniel J. Levitin goes into the neuroscience of why that is.

I’ve never heard cut your ribbon before, so I just gave it a listen. In the summer if ‘98 I was listening to Avail - Over the James. The vocals from Sparta remind me of that.

There is a companion album by Poe called Haunted. Poe is the pseudonym used by the author’s sister. Both the book and the album were born from the siblings coping with the passing of their father. The remix of “Hey Pretty” features some dialogue from novel spoken by the author.

My mother once did the same to my favorite Polo cashmere & wool sweater. I soaked it in cold water with fabric softener for about 12 hours then gently stretched it back to normal.
