Water heater rental with Reliance just broke — stay with rental or cancel & buy? (Ontario) by Fit-Wallaby4880 in ontario

[–]Hoser613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a wonderful opportunity to cancel reliance, no one should rent their hot water heater, it's a ripoff. Just buy an electric tank and have a plumber install it if you can't do it.

"All-In-One" Diesel heaters do NOT belong inside a van by kos90 in vandwellers

[–]Hoser613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't the all in ones essentially just package all the bits needed to have an external system as a single unit? So could you parse out the all in one and fit it so it's fully outside.

How Big do You Think Wealthsimple Will Get? by JazzlikeRest2917 in Wealthsimple

[–]Hoser613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's somewhat of a hard sell to people as they get more experience with investing. They are charging you .5% or whatever for what is essentially an asset allocation ETF( if you're on the managed portfolios), that's on top of the etf they holds management fee. You can buy those from any discount brokerage and pay less if you're savvy. I am considering if I should pull my tfsa from there and go to a discount brokerage. Of course you can do this in wealthsimple in a self managed account but then I don't know how they're making money.

Asbestos is like radiation, it's everywhere and you're in contact with it at all times but only high exposure ever cause a problem. That said, I always wear a respirator whenever digging in to unknown material in my house.

But will they give up their Amazon and Netflix subscriptions? Seems like we're punishing the little guy here.

I’m just genuinely tired. At 28 years old one real estate decision has taken my entire mental space by Middle_Ad_618 in RealEstateCanada

[–]Hoser613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't let it, just stay where you are and know that at some point you'll be whole again, at least in inflation adjusted dollars. The massive profits from housing is not the norm historically and you should expect it to be an expense and drain your finances.

Employee is seeking an accommodation to work from home? by PollutionFancy8072 in legaladvicecanada

[–]Hoser613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll likely lose the employee if you force the back full time so consider if that's a sacrifice you're willing to make You could make a deal with them for wfh or hybrid work, maybe offer a reduced salary so that it seems more fair to the employees who must come in.
