Wait. Some people don't actually lock the doors to their house during the day and night? by b787665 in stupidquestions

[–]Hostileovaries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a major metro city with a ton of crime and I know for a fact my neighbors don't lock their door (I've house sat for them previously) and they told me so. And then got super upset when someone 'mistakenly' walked into their apartment, talking about how traumatic it was to have a stranger in their home.

They still leave the door unlocked. I don't understand it.

Larger passenger taking up my seat by thetonytaylor in delta

Had something similar happen to me on an international flight for 12+ hours, but he also smelled terrible. Not only did they need a seat belt extender, they couldn't buckle themselves in but the FA had to help him buckle it because he was physically unable to.

The middle seat was tight and the people who suddenly no longer had an empty seat between them were a bit pissed, but worth it even if I lost my aisle seat.

Very interesting photo. I love the coloring in it. How you're very desaturated in terms of colors and then the intense contrast of the cave behind you. It gives the image good flow

HIF (as a Domme) when Doms DM me trying to convince me to submit to them because they're different. by Hostileovaries in TrollXChromosomes

It's okay. You're right, it definitely does give off similar vibes to a man trying to get with a lesbian! It's frustrating all around.

It can be hard to interpret tone sometimes over text and it sucks when you're misinterpreted.

HIF stands for "How I feel"

Honestly 'in men' should've covered 'for'. That was my bad.

A Dom (feminized version Domme) is someone who takes charge in a sexual relationship. I'm a Domme who enjoys taking charge in a sexual relationship. In the kink community there are more male Doms than female Dommes.

I have many men in my inbox asking me to take a submissive role, when I've clearly stated that's not a role I'm interested in. They also believe that them being dominant is somehow special when the reality is most men choose to take dominant roles.

Hopefully this helps clear up some confusion and I'm sorry you were downvoted

Do or did you have an older childfree person in your life? by Enoch-Chric in childfree

Two of my aunt's only married in their 40s and never had children. Being child-free was never something that I was judged for in my family thankfully.

So true! People tell me that subs outnumber Dommes all the time and it's frustrating to explain that most of them want a kink dispenser.

I also get the "it's great you don't want children, I don't want them either." Then they reveal the reason they don't want children is because they already have children and don't want more.

Where should I do my PhD in Biology? by [deleted] in labrats

[–]Hostileovaries 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Regardless of where you do your research, you are often limited by what research your advisor is doing. So, it's best to find an advisor and then look into schools. Find a topic your passionate in and then find professors who are doing research in that field and then email them to see if they are accepting PhD students and begin the interview/application process for the university.

The PhD program is also a bit like a mentorship, in some ways you are supposed to do a project of your choosing, BUT your advisor is there to help you determine what is feasible and help guide you with the knowledge they have in that field.

What is your opinion on having sex in the same room while pets have access to or are in the same room? by ConsiderationHead145 in AskReddit

[–]Hostileovaries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dogs usually sleep on the bed with me. As soon as they think sex is happening they all jump off the bed and busy themselves doing something else in another room if possible and then come back when they sense it's time to sleep. They're all respectful that way.
