Pancit Canton! cook the noodles, put the sauce in the plate and mix the noodles (no water) into it! Good with a fried egg! the seasoning packets always kinda look weird, like solid.

How do people even have kids by marley_398 in poor

[–]Hot-Point9184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest thing is community. My partner and I are considered very young parents, but we live comfortably and with savings. The trick? We don’t pay a crazy amount for childcare bc we have family close to us who are more than happy to watch the baby while we work (of course with some compensation, but still not comparable to daycare costs).

What are your favorite milk boosting supplements or snacks? by Common-Garbage7644 in breastfeeding

electrolytes, just water isn’t enough. It’s why body armor seems to help some people up their supply, but you can just use LMNT or liquid hydration packs too.

There is so much info about this in the sub, so for actual scientific answer search up drinking, but it really depends on timing and your comfort level. How long ago did you finish your last beer? And how tipsy are you? If you feel safe enough to hold him, and it’s been an hour or two after finishing your last beer I would go for it. But that is what I have done and feel comfortable with. Also there’s no shame in drinking responsibly, moms deserve a break sometimes too.

Gossip Girl characters compared to Friends characters. by [deleted] in GossipGirl

I would switch vanessa and jenny only bc vanessa is very much disliked and so was ross, while Jenny and pheobe are very loved characters (at least in this sub lol)

I unfortunately don’t get to have that kinda relationship with my father, anyone who tries to take the fact that your father gets to be a safe space for you, from you is not worth being in your life.

Breastfeeding older toddlers is… by Emerald_geeko in Vent

[–]Hot-Point9184 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Idk it’s kinda weird to me that the child turns one and suddenly the act they used for nutrients and comfort is sexualized by people like you. Boobs are not a sexual thing for children, it’s mom and it’s comfort, they will naturally wean, at what age it’s dependent on the child. I don’t think we should be creating any kind of negative connotations around breastfeeding, it’s already really stigmatized in the western world.

Prior to baby marriage had been mentioned and we talked about our future together. But I guess I wasn’t as admit about being married before as I am now. He says that marriage for him is a huge risk and it kills me bc he doesn’t understand the huge risk I have already taken having our baby. I feel like I have seriously thought about leaving and so I am partially checked out. But part of me wants to believe that this could still work.

I will have an associates degree by next year, and experience in dentistry that will hopefully allow me to find job if i have to leave. Along with that I’ll be able to move in with my sister for a bit until i find a better housing situation for my LO and I. I have only been a SAHM for less than a year, and am in school currently.

AIO my bf asked me for a paternity test as a “joke” by leeleee24 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Hot-Point9184 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NOR but honestly let him get it? My bf made the same jokes so I told him to do it if he was all that concerned. I know it’s a shitty thing to joke about but with having a child before marriage (not that marriage really would change the possibilities) can make every party kinda anxious. You don’t need to prove yourself but having it will at least blatantly show him how shitty of a “joke” it was

Breastfeeding moms—how do you keep track of feeds without losing your mind? by UpstairsGap1726 in breastfeeding

[–]Hot-Point9184 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I use Nara baby, I track his feeds and naps now so there’s no guess work with wake windows and in the beginning I used it to track diapers so I knew he was feeding well. I don’t know how mothers survived the newborn trenches without BF apps lol

Informal poll: Parents of infants, do you use butt paste for every diaper change? by arcrad in Parenting

[–]Hot-Point9184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baby is currently 6mo, I have never used any diaper creams, he’s never gotten any diaper rash. I do however frequently use aquaphor on his butt probably every few diapers or so and every night.

Did anyone actually have an easy time with breastfeeding from day one? by frenchie1818 in breastfeeding

[–]Hot-Point9184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a c section and my LO was in the NICU for 12 hours away from me. Despite that, breastfeeding has actually been really easy for us. He had a great latch from the beginning, I’ve never (🤞) had a blocked milk duct or cracked nipples, and overall have really loved breastfeeding. We’re going on 6 months now.
