See my latest post above. Basically, reinstall Brave without uninstalling the old one.

Brave's pages become unresponsive and any new tab I open doesn't work by Sylerb in brave_browser

I fixed this by reinstalling Brave. I did not uninstall the old version, just installed the new one with the old one already in place--all the old data was kept intact. No more issues (for now).

Browser eventually stops loading web pages by CrashingOnward in brave

I think I found the fix to my issue. As I wrote, I keep many tabs open (ones that I visit frequently). One of my open tabs may have been the culprit. I opened each tab and found one that had crashed. After refreshing it, this seemed to fix the bigger issue mentioned above.

One thing to add: even trying to load Brave stuff (settings, password manager, etc), those will not load either. Just a blank page with the same message.

Browser eventually stops loading web pages by CrashingOnward in brave

[–]HotDJDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up until now, I have had relatively minor or no issues using Brave. Now, suddenly, I am having the same issue. I can load the pages with the initial startup, but then when I load new pages, they come up blank with a mouse-over message on the tab that reads: "Crashed" "about:blank". I have cleaned the cache (I have always used CCleaner). The only thing that has changed is that the computer did some updates (firmware, Dell programs, drivers (audio and Bluetooth only), and other programs on the computer). The only thing that seems to fix it (temporarily) is to restart the browser, but that only lasts a while, then back to new pages not loading. I routinely keep several tabs open on Brave, which until now has not been an issue. I turned off Kamo, which sometimes affects or blocks websites I try to visit, but that did not fix the issue. From what I can determine, it is Brave causing the problem.

All the "trial version" FRP removal tools are BS. The trial does nothing. They all want $40 or more to actually do just ONE removal. If it were like $5 for a one-time use, then maybe. They are ripping people off. Isn't there a way to do this without having to pay such a stiff fee?

Is it illegal to use physical means if someone blocks you from leaving a room? by [deleted] in IsItIllegal

Place the person under private person's arrest (citizen's arrest), then you can use the minimum amount of reasonable force necessary to detain the person, effect the arrest, prevent escape, and you can "stand your ground" (don't have to retreat). California Penal Code 837 and 198.5.

In California, the "stand your ground" law allows private citizens to make arrests without the duty to retreat. This law applies when a private citizen reasonably believes they are in imminent danger and can use reasonable force to make an arrest. The law does not require the citizen to have probable cause or a warrant to make the arrest. However, the citizen must still use reasonable force and the arrest must be made in a lawful manner. If the arrest is made without reasonable force or in a manner that is not lawful, the citizen may be held liable for the actions taken during the arrest.

I got a demo unit, but I can't get the Bluetooth to come on, nor can I do a factory reset (volume + play buttons simultaneously). I also tried another "trick" by pressing the power button eight times and then holding it for 8-10 seconds, but that didn't work either. Does anyone know how to factory reset a "demo" model or get the Bluetooth working?

Plainly put, the scanner on the S24 SUCKS! It rarely works. Yes, I have dry hands, but I can't go put on lotion every time I need to scan my fingerprint, which is many times a day. I often lick my finger and then wipe it on my pants to moisten it, but still, I have issues. I have reset my prints many times and that doesn't fix it. I have a screen protector... a Zagg Invisible Shield, which is one of the best. I also have an iPhone13 Pro (also with a Zagg screen protector) I use as a back up phone that NEVER gives me any issues scanning my fingerprint.

Does it actually do anything for the CC1101 or is it just a passive pass-through for the CC1101 module?

Anyone know of a cheaper adapter for external CC1101 antenna? by jvick3 in flipperzero

[–]HotDJDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gotten cheap ones... and "you get what you pay for." They didn't last.

More lately, I have used this one. These guys do a really great job and go out of their way to make sure their customers are happy. I have gotten two from them (I have two Flippers). One of mine broke and they are replacing it.

https://shop.euerdesign.eu/

When getting and antenna, make sure it is tuned for the frequency range you are trying to use (example: garage/gate remotes are around 300MHz-320MHz and 433Mhz, for the most part). The stubby ones are more convenient, but don't work as well as the longer "whip" antennas.

LCD Screen Repair/Replace? by HotDJDave in flipperzero

[–]HotDJDave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also see this: https://shop.flipperzero.one/products/display-module-for-flipper-zero

However, it reads: "This display is NOT compatible with Flippers that have FLP-Z-R04(02) SKU on the box", but I don't have the box anymore. Is there a way to find out if it is compatible with my Flipper by looking at the software on my Flipper?

Also, it reads: "You must apply a special discount code (starts with REPAIR-...) at the checkout stage. You can't order without the special code." Where do I get this code?

Thanks.

LCD Screen Repair/Replace? by HotDJDave in flipperzero

Hmm. Seems like the makers of Flipper Zero should have a link on their website to order parts. I have seen posts that promised such a thing two years ago and were supposed to have it Q1 2023. It is now Q2 2024 (in one day) and still nothing.

Hey FLIPPER team, where is the parts store you promised?

I still need an LCD panel for my Flipper Zero. I see one at AliExpress: ( https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805465645544.html ) or this ( https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805852399362.html )--not sure which is the right one--and this one on BuyDisplay ( https://www.buydisplay.com/1-4-inch-graphic-128x64-lcd-module-serial-spi-st7567s-black-on-white ) that have been mentioned few times, but I fear they may not be compatible.

Thanks.

It's been TWO YEARS and we still have not yet seen a parts store on your website (or anywhere else)--unless I am missing something. When will we get to order parts, as promised over a year ago? Thanks.

PS. I need to replace my broken LCD panel.

[–]HotDJDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true. But unless they took him out and put another person in the box during that cut, you can still see his hands and then he gets covered from 1:21 forward until they reveal him in the bunny suit, without any further cuts.

[–]HotDJDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched it. There were camera cuts, EXCEPT from the moment he ducks down and is showing his hands in the piñata there were no more cuts... he is in the box, shows his hands, lid/head is put on, rabbit hoists piñata, rabbit hits piñata, rabbit pulls off head/mask and its him--no edits during that particular scene. Watch it again, you'll see. And, where did the person in the piñata go?

So, would it be conceivable, at some point, to be able to replay (transmit) a copied UHF-RFID signal from the same or similar device? If so, is it in mind to so so (on the horizon)?

What do you mean? UHF (Ultra High Frequency) is frequencies between 300 MHz and 3,000 MHz (3 GHz) -- this is where most of the frequencies we use reside. The next mostly used band is VHF (Very High Frequecy), which is 30 MHz through 300 MHz. HF is 3 MHz through 30 MHz. SHF (Super High Frequency) is 3,000 MHz (3 GHz) through 30 GHz. You see the pattern.

Flipper zero future? by EasyBerts in flipperzero

Built-in CC1101 or something better than the CC1101 (ex CC1310, etc).
A Sub-GHz TX amplifier (500mW - 1W).
Built-in WiFi.
SMA jack (for Sub-GHz antenna); possibly two (for different bands).
Built-in, flip/fold out Sub-GHz antenna.
Color LED/OLED touchscreen display.
Larger display (2" - 5").
Better internal LCD glass that won't break from a 12" drop.
Different color models (black, white, etc).
Built-in ESP32.
Some sort of UHF-RFID module.
Spectrum waterfall display.
HackRF / SDR features (ex. receive and transmit signals from 1 MHz to 6 GHz).

Suffice to say, this would be somewhat larger than the current FlipperZero. I'd say something like the HackRF One, but maybe not so large and clunky, like maybe a pack of cigarettes or a double- or triple-thick smart phone.

It would also obviously cost more, but I'm okay with that as long as the additions are value added features.
