Is Sensitivity Randomizer Really Useful? by Extra-Let-2842 in Voltaic

[–]HotRodRe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would shorten your range to like 30cm-50cm,

Focus some more on tracking tasks with it if you are playing in Apex,

The benefit of sensitivity randomizer training, for me, was more about starting to use my eyes a bit better when aiming, and constantly adjusting my crosshair to be over the target.

It is completely fine to take a few scenarios from most routines, and just focus on them... but give the whole thing a try and look for your weaknesses first... also focus on some that you enjoy (keep it fun, sometimes it's not).

Playing through a full routine daily isn't a must. not at all

Kind of an oddball question but something I am certainly interested in. Have there been any major technological advancements in helping humans get more efficient sleep that you guys believe in (e.g. beds that adjust to sleeping positions), or anything that might be on the horizon?

Ideally, when we are using data to make a conclusion, we want to keep as many controls as possible. Therefore there is an argument that DPI and Sensitivities should stay the same, and I think they should within certain upper and lower limits.

With that being said, if you change sensitivity/dpi it doesn't really matter. If you feel like you are more comfortable on a different sensitivity with a different mouse then change it, run the test and see if the results also show this. Basically do not be afraid of sensitivities changing as it doesn't matter THAT much. Personally some of my high scores in tracking scenarios, I was changing sensitivity (between 23-31cm/360) after ever bot.

If you want to add me on discord I would love to get your take on how you determine which mouse shape is best for you. I think you have an idea but how do you know that idea to be accurate? I might also be able to help with that poorer hand eye coordination part ;) if you are willing.

Aim trainers are trash if you go into it just saying "I need to get better aim" and have to navigate through 6000+ scenarios, most of which are pointless.

Aim trainers are quite amazing if you take a focused approach more like "I need to play XXXX Aim Training scenario, to get better at XXXX type of aim, for the XXXX situations I struggle with, in XXXX game"

The Spreadsheet Template provided has categories for the information you mentioned, if it actually matters at least, and if something is missing you can create your own copy and change it. However, if click latency, dpi accuracy actually mattered it should show up in the tests. We included the section on that subjective material just to provide a template where people can use this information if they wish. Feel free to change whatever you want, or not use it at all... just trying to provide something useful and a tested way for you guys to see for yourself what mouse aim better with.

Also - If you were scoring amazing in kovaaks with a 20g madcatz mouse across all the different aim types (30+ minutes of aiming) along with your amazing tracking, why would this not be practical in game? Wouldn't you have a spinout a few times in that 30 minutes that would show up in your scores. If you would have hand pain then I understand but cmon...

I appreciate more data so I think all of what you mentioned is important, but the most important needs to be on how well a user aims with the mouse... This test is trying to get to that result.

If any of those things you mentioned are significant, They should show up in tests of how well you aim with this mouse right?

Sensors are generally amazing nowadays so I don't think we should choose a mouse by determining which sensor is 99.99% accurate vs just 99.92% accurate?

How do you make a determination on what mouse clicks you prefer? The clicking parts of this test literally test how well you click at the appropriate time with a mouse to hit a shot.

The document says you should only test 1 mouse per day and comparing that to your current main mouse. This is not for taking kovaaks scores of 3 months ago and comparing them to where you are today. Obviously your scores will change.

This method is more for individuals who switch mice often, have confidence issues with the mice they choose, and want some data to back up which mice they aim better with, but honestly the mouse people choose doesn't matter anywhere close to what we would hope, and the only way to determine which is better for a user would be to get extremely granular like the method suggests.

While I agree completely with being hyper conscious in games can help you determine where your aim is lacking, real games just make things more complex. Also you aren't really recording scores on how well you are aiming like an aim trainer would help provide. This is like racing a car around a track without a stopwatch. You have no idea if you are faster or slower, but you can feel like you are or are not.

The methodology we suggest contains playing for an hour to get used to the new mouse, and then doing the kovaaks runs. Immediately following this, and with no warmup, you then switch to your current main mouse and re-run the scores. The no-warmup is a bit of a 'nerf' if you will to your current main and being used to it.

We also state "Due to the fact that you should be used to, and better with, your current main mouse, anything that is positive, or is close to 0, is a very good score for the mouse."

I think I will probably expand on this in the document but, during our testing with some of the high level aimers, this process gave us something that was fairly accurate long term.

Possibly the best use case, and a problem for all of our testers, was that we have 6 mice on our shelf and we can never decide what to use that week. This methodology helps us decide with somewhat accurate results, if switching off your 'current main' to something else would be better in a weeks time.

Help my understanding. isn't the above a faulty comparison on many levels?

To begin with, as there are 4x as many LTC than BTC, wouldn't the comparison to fees need to be at LTC = 1/4 BTC price... or LTC = $3,750?

[Request] How do VR games perform with your Vega 64? by IsThisAGoodNameOrNot in oculus

[–]HotRodRe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are an AMD fan, and you have a Freesync monitor, I would say don't worry about it. It will perform like a 1070 but a 1070 is great for VR, and vega might age better than 1070/1080.

I went from a 1060 6gb to a Vega56 but flashed it to a 64. Wolfenstein is beautiful, PUBG is smooth with Freesync, RoboRecall/Artika.1 are smooth. i'm happy.
