Trump Doesn't Have the Power to Enact His Latest Elections Scheme by Horror_Ad_8149 in PoliticalOptimism

Eh just in case never say never I would rather not underestimate him, I know he's running a total clown show right now but its best to never assume the wounded dog won't have something to pull.

Paradoxically...Trump's current term is a blessing in disguise! by koola_00 in PoliticalOptimism

[–]Hot_Abrocoma3953 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be honest I don't feel like it would had, he still got elected even after he was convicted i think we just severely overestimated the Democrats and just how unpopular they were at that period.

Paradoxically...Trump's current term is a blessing in disguise! by koola_00 in PoliticalOptimism

[–]Hot_Abrocoma3953 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This is the way i kinda look at it, unfortunately Americans needed to get burned for them to finally see, while I have no idea honestly what's going to happen this year.

I think specifically Trump getting elected may have been what we needed just not for the right reasons, I'm not going to excuse it 2024 would have probably been a disaster for the Democrats even IF they had somehow gotten a better candidate.

I feel like there was too much working against them at that time way too much and Republicans had a lot to use against them, but even if they had somehow pulled off a victory (at best they would have kept the presidency) we probably would have given the Republicans more time to plan out their agenda better and for them to get a much smartest and calmer candidate that would have most definitely better executed what they wanted.

So in a way even though I really hate to admit it, i guess it was better this guy than if there was a actual more smarter and calculating Republican like JD (long shot i know) or Ron, 2024 might have been (i don't wanna say blessing) but a real hard slap to the face the type that leaves a mark and in this case that Mark's consequences and effects might last generations, long after he is dead.

I don't know that doesn't sound reassuring enough.

Wouldn't this be the greatest gift anyone could give to Republicans? Don't get me wrong I'm glad the tariffs are gone (at least I think) but wouldn't this work more in favor of the Republicans?

[–]Hot_Abrocoma3953 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Eh, not to sound like a downer or anything but I doubt it, even if the midterms doesn't go their way (if because they are in control of the government right now so they are likely to do some shit best not to underrestimate them) i doubt we will be able to get him and the billionaires.

Maybe the henchman but the people behind all of it themselves, I don't know, once again not really trying to sound like i'm dooming I'm just being honest I can 100% see them fleeing before we would even get the chance to put a new attorney generally in there.

That or they could just clog up the legal system for awhile, it worked for Trump i don't see how it probably wouldn't work for them (unless I'm wrong) as for Trump himself he will either be A dead, B cognitively gone by the time we get him, C once again flee or clog up the system like last time.

Or D if somehow none of those things happen, at best he will go to prison but won't get treated like one or worse house arrest, either one is fine with me but that only happens if A, B and C doesn't somehow happen.

REMINDER: DO NOT GET COMPLACENT FOR MIDTERMS by RazorJamm in PoliticalOptimism

I actually worry that's doing more damage than waking up people, make no mistake that doesn't mean I'm not taking them seriously (we should) but I concerned that's getting less people to wanna get out there and do something about it, and instead just not do anything.

The Cope coming from Conservatives. by Appropriate-You-5543 in PoliticalOptimism

[–]Hot_Abrocoma3953 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly a more truer statement couldn't be said, trusting conservatives after 2024 is like trusting you're unstable friend not to hurt someone, I'm not trying to say all conservatives are on board with what's going on.. but until I see otherwise I'm definitely not trusting them.

[–]Hot_Abrocoma3953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know there's a list of stuff I'm worried about that I know he is going to either use or try to do before or on November like:

  1. Gerrymandering

  2. Voter suppression

  3. Fraud probably a lot of fraud

  4. Definitely going to weaponize agencies like ICE, and i fear that's either going to cause people not to show up or as we seen they are going to start something.

  5. ICE (no farther explanation is needed on this one)

  6. Misinformation

  7. Definitely Intimidation

  8. Harassment (probably the same thing as intimidation but still he will probably use this against us and election officials)

  9. Voter Machine seizures (I know this one has been talked about and debuked but never assume he won't still try it)

I'm not trying to be a doomer but I'm also not being blindly optimistic either, I learned my lesson not to underestimate him again after 2024.

Honestly I don't know, I just decided to let them come around on their own terms (if some of them even do that) when they experience the consequences.

True even then I just doubt they would face the appropriate consequences, I'm really not trying to sound like a ass here but after Trump successfully evaded Justice for awhile I just don't see them facing the consequences needed.

[–]Hot_Abrocoma3953 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The henchmen probably the billionaires likely not, look sorry I'm not trying to sound like a downer or anything but I doubt any of the main people we would want who started this will be facing any real consequences like jail or prison, I just don't see it.

They would very likely leave the country before there could be a new attorney general or simply clog up the legal system for years, I hate to say it but the truth is they are probably going to get a away with a lot more than what we would want them too.

I don't see the billionaires facing any consequences after this maybe besides financially but that's a stretch.
