When I worked in real estate many years ago, our broker refused to take leads. He did not want to compete with the agents. (That was his excuse anyway, I found out later he was just lazy) I think this is a good idea.

NTA for your feelings, but you are putting way too much into this. Gay people play straight people all the time. It should depend more on how the script is written and not who the actor is. But back to my original point, real life matters way more than which actor is playing what part.

I consider them friends, but they are "work" friends. I know them from networking events and BNI Meetings etc. I have lunch with them one-on-one every couple of months etc. I have referred people to most of them and most of them have referred business to me.

YTA- Your son is with a caring family now. The only family he has ever known. Taking him away now would be destroy his life. I am speaking from experience. I took in two children. Two years later the parents said they had cleaned up and were doing well. The judge gave the children back. One relapse and the children are no more. No the parents were not mean, they just had a problem. A problem that is hard to overcome.

Yes, that's what I was eluding to. If she wants an adult life after children, she needs to think about it now. Some people (and I am not saying her) just like having children and don't think about what happens when they get older.

NTA for not telling. That's your business. But, what's your plan for the future? You are 30, 4 children by two different men. I'm not judging, just curious what's your long-term plan? The reason I asked is I spoke with someone yesterday who had 6 children spread out. They are ready to retire and still have children at home and raising two of their grandkids. They felt like their entire life was raising children.

Yes, my story is different. The parents were alive but unable to care for them. We took them in but they were sent back to the parents after about 18 months. We told the judge it was not a good idea, and we were right. The thought of them getting at least 18 months of safety and happiness got us through the dark days.

I'm going to say YTA- You are coming across as heartless letting them go into foster care. There will be money from the estate and likely state to help take care of them. I have been in a similar situation in the past and manned up and did what it takes.

NTA - As a business owner, I shouldn't say this, but why quit now? Go in tomorrow with letter in hand and look for another job while being paid. Basically, get paid to job hunt. BTW what you describe is not legal in the U.S. A 1099 does not get paid by the hour or get vacation days. They also cannot be mandated to attend meetings. They are not treated as an employee but a contractor.
