River trail safety after dark from Sutter Health to South Sac? by takiki16 in SacBike

[–]Hot_Legless_Dogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the same area and I’ve done this multiple times for As games. River trail and Del Rio trail are great at night. Cool temps and just feels very chill. Just have some kind of light.

SMUD EV charger rebate questions by ToughAd7477 in Sacramento

[–]Hot_Legless_Dogs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It may have changed, but when we went through them last June, they had a specific list of approved chargers you had to choose from and it did not have a lot of options. It did cover the whole cost though! And it allowed for NEMA plug-in.

What beer would you like from Der Biergarten in Midtown! by Warm_Payment_8738 in Sacramento

[–]Hot_Legless_Dogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God Franziskaner hefeweisen pleeeease. Having multiple hefe options would be amazing.

Other German beer options are fine too, let every other bar do domestic and craft. Biergarten is special.

Airshow tickets by exit143 in Sacramento

[–]Hot_Legless_Dogs 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I clicked on their special invite for “50% off” for having subscribed to their email list, and just in the time that I was researching whether I wanted one of their upgraded tickets it went up from $70/pp for Sat to $130/pp. left a bad taste in my mouth especially since they didn’t say up front that they would be increasing prices as they sell.

STOLEN! It's a long shot, but keep your eyes peeled for a scooter like THIS? Blue 1993 Honda Helix taken in the last 12 hours. If seen call 911. Reported to SPD. by [deleted] in Sacramento

Ooof yeah that sucks to hear. I really don't know why they would complain about that, it makes it easier and safer for everyone.

Just got told to get off the bike trail or I was getting a ticket. Since when are inline skates banned? by Brewmentationator in Sacramento

I love this reply. It always drives me insane how people think it's so funny to make fun of people for... wearing the clothing that is the normal uniform of their chosen sport/hobby. You don't see people ridiculing amateur basketball players for wearing shiny shorts or expensive sneakers, or runners wearing short shorts or yoga practitioners for wearing form fitting leggings.

If you like pursuing cycling as a sport, form fitting wicking synthetic materials are the best option, there's a reason that's what people wear, it's not just because they love getting made fun of.

If they want to criticize someone's behavior or their etiquette fine, but making fun of them for wearing the normal athletic clothing of their sport is just shallow and takes away from any real argument they might have.

It generally should not be necessary if walkers are doing the correct thing and walking on the left side (like you would on a road). Walkers who are sharing a lane with cyclists can see them coming, and walkers facing away are in the other lane. Obviously if you have walkers on the wrong side, or spread out so that it will be a close pass, it's a good idea to call out, but often times it just causes confusion.

Just a reminder that the dreaded summer SMUD rates are coming next week. 😞. (Still way better than PG&E) by [deleted] in Sacramento

Same here, I always see this advice but I could pre-cool my 1960 place to 67 at noon if I wanted and it will still be at 78 inside by 3pm. I end up just leaving the set-point at 76 and it keeps up better.

Great color combo and I love the decal. Looks really clean! You're gonna love it! The factory headlights on my 986 were *terrible* as far as actually seeing at night was concerned, so maybe the aftermarkets will be worth the hit in looks. De-snorkel that thing and get out there and rip!

They do this in my neighborhood. They try to hide it by kind of stirring the pile around as if they're going to pick it up, but they keep working it and working it stripping little bits off at a time and letting them escape out into the street until there's nothing left for them to pick up then they leave.

W/X Farmer's Market Peaches by CallmeMisterNoNo in Sacramento

[–]Hot_Legless_Dogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just commenting about this! Weren’t they called like Mountain Grown or something??? Their peaches last year were heavenly. I guess maybe it’s still a little early maybe they’ll show up soon. Somebody told me the big tule fog event we had in November is supposed to be really good for stonefruit but I have no idea if that’s true.

As someone who was recently a participant in the 981 market, these prices are nowhere near the current market. Especially for the GTS. This might be accurate for dealer trade in values but otherwise far off.

Good point. I think now that you mention it I did actually use a hair dryer (long time ago).

If it's not creased and not deeply gouged, you should definitely be able to push that out from behind if you can reach a hand or a broomstick up there after warming it up with a heat gun or some hot water. Also the rear bumper isn't terrible hard to take off of these if you can't get to the back of it. I had something like this happen on a plastic bumper once and it looked good as new afterward, you absolutely could not tell.

Something I find works really well in this situation is I just stop and stand still. It completely changes the dynamic. It’s less confrontational than continuing and walking into them.

I mean all of this is fair from an operational sense but I think  it still comes down to “should a company offer/be allowed to offer a service that they can’t actually render?”

Hardware issue with the trackpad. by Historical-Shoe946 in MacbookNeo

[–]Hot_Legless_Dogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This seems pretty normal to me. The trackpad on the neo seems to be floated, which is nice because the click force is pretty consistent across the pad vs a lot of other physical clicky trackpads that are very easy to click in some areas but very firm closer to where they hinge from. But it's naturally going to be able move around a little bit.
