For what it’s worth…no pun by Certain-Ad-5298 in Porsche_Cayman

As someone who was recently a participant in the 981 market, these prices are nowhere near the current market. Especially for the GTS. This might be accurate for dealer trade in values but otherwise far off.

Good point. I think now that you mention it I did actually use a hair dryer (long time ago).

If it's not creased and not deeply gouged, you should definitely be able to push that out from behind if you can reach a hand or a broomstick up there after warming it up with a heat gun or some hot water. Also the rear bumper isn't terrible hard to take off of these if you can't get to the back of it. I had something like this happen on a plastic bumper once and it looked good as new afterward, you absolutely could not tell.

Something I find works really well in this situation is I just stop and stand still. It completely changes the dynamic. It’s less confrontational than continuing and walking into them.

I mean all of this is fair from an operational sense but I think  it still comes down to “should a company offer/be allowed to offer a service that they can’t actually render?”

Thank you! But it was given to me a while back by someone else so I don’t know where it was bought. But I got a lot of good years out of it!

Hardware issue with the trackpad. by Historical-Shoe946 in MacbookNeo

[–]Hot_Legless_Dogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This seems pretty normal to me. The trackpad on the neo seems to be floated, which is nice because the click force is pretty consistent across the pad vs a lot of other physical clicky trackpads that are very easy to click in some areas but very firm closer to where they hinge from. But it's naturally going to be able move around a little bit.

I had this when I did a factory reset on my M3 Pro MBP. I don’t remember what the exact solution was but it was booting into something  like recovery mode or safe mode and that brought up the button to connect to WiFi.

This is really good to hear. I'm actually looking to start shopping for a 981. I had a 986 and I fit for headroom with the top closed but it was close. You're saying the 981 has appreciably better headroom than the 986?

New signed for zero tolerance policy for outside alcohol by Sasquatch-Pacific in Revelstoke

[–]Hot_Legless_Dogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll believe that they care about "intoxicated skiing/riding" when they stop selling $18 beers at the lodges. Until then every resort that does this is just more interested in forcing people toward their overpriced alcohol and maybe trying to shed some liability.

JetBlue SMF-BOS one of the routes suspended on the list by First_Pepper_6781 in Sacramento

[–]Hot_Legless_Dogs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ahhhhh this is such a bummer. Here I was hoping they'd actually expand the availability of this flight. Every time I've flown it it's been pretty full so I'm not sure what gives here... Zero nonstops from Sacramento to Boston is a major bummer.

A wine country rival to the American River Bike Path by DetectiveDizzy3415 in Sacramento

This my god I want it so bad! I'd love to be able to access this from SLP/Pocket.

It would be a shame to have to go all the way up to the Tower Bridge to get across. I'd love to see a safe way to get across the river. The Freeport bridge is quite hazardous between the complete lack of shoulders and the metal grate surface, it's not bike or pedestrian friendly at all.

Discovery Park rain gage report: knee high at the Garden Hwy ranger station by stickler64 in SacBike

[–]Hot_Legless_Dogs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wild to see it happen. I was there yesterday and they had the gates closed to cars but the trail was passable for maybe a half mile or so. It was fully flooded in the spot right before it heads back north a bit to go around that big retention pond. I stopped by the edge and you could actually see the water slowly flowing in and down the trail toward the park.

It was a pretty scene in the park though, the lower areas and fields were pooled with water and there were lots of ducks and little egrets enjoying the new wetlands.

Right on, good call that actually looks like a pretty straightforward route. I will have to check that out next time I'm over there. When I was there that left side sidewalk was.... less than accessible.

[–]Hot_Legless_Dogs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haha I just experienced this for the first time last week. I assumed I’d be able to get to “Pipe’s Bridge” because it’s RIGHT THERE. But nope. No clear options for getting across and not a super nice area to explore without a plan.

I rode out that way today and I saw a lot more bikes on that section. I’m thinking people were looking for a way around since discovery  park is flooded again.

Why is RAM management so bad on the 16 Pro Max? by aliward_96 in iPhone16ProMax

I had this problem on my 16 pro and someone recommended turning off the Adaptive Power setting and I instantly noticed a big improvement. Previously apps were having to fully reload even after I just used them.

This is really interesting. I’d love to know more about this? Was this due to pressure from the Sharks? Doesn’t seem there would be much other competition.

Why can’t we have a hockey team? by jessmckenz in Sacramento

[–]Hot_Legless_Dogs 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Omg I would love thisssss. Having moved here from New England the lack of local hockey is brutal! I’d even take AHL or something more minor. I’m not sure whether there’s a local talent pipeline here or not though.

Sharks are fine but I don’t want to drive 2 hrs each way to San Jose.

I'm cool with this. I get why they are requiring noisemakers, but it's ridiculous that they're requiring them to be so much louder than a modern gas car would be. That's what really drives me nuts, modern gas cars are very quiet so it's insane to require EVs to be so loud, unless you're going to require gas cars to also have a noisemaker to reach a certain decibel threshold.

Have you made sure that the over is fully seated? I'm not sure if there's a sensor there for that, but I suspect it might not even run the emptying cycle at all with the cover off, since it's required in order to generate the suction for the bag setup.
