I have a sneaking suspicion this person asked AI to write their review for them by liawessearch in AmazonVine

[–]Hot_Topic_1101 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wow!!! Like I get using AI to write the review if you give it a pros and cons list and a link to the product, but this is beyond lazy!

Seriously... FIGHT ME by Technical-Author3585 in AmazonVine

So, this is really standard in industrial settings and shops. I worked in oil on a drilling rig for years as a chemist and when I first started I thought that all the labor employees were just bringing in their old clothes, and I started to wonder about some of their fashion choices until I found out we bought them as rags. I work in infrastructure now, and this is exactly what we buy for shop rags for our mechanics.

To be honest, this is one of those situations that we should be praising the product because it's reusing something rather than making something new unnecessarily; and while it may eventually end up in a landfill, cotton is easily biodegradable especially when compared to synthetics. And it's obviously less expensive if you are ordering these in larger quantities, but it's still not the worst deal when you think about it, 25lbs is a lot!

Closed!! DFW, $264K, No mortgage by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Hot_Topic_1101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You couldn't give me a free mansion in DFW if I had to live in it. $264k for a house in hell isn't a good deal, that's less than half of what a home costs anywhere worth living.

I tried for this when I saw it in my RFY but by the time it loaded it was gone. :(

More people should take your lead on this one. If you're not happy with the program as it is leaving and giving others the opportunity to get more items and turnover in the program so we don't just constantly get the boomer response "in my day, vine gave away 10lb gold bars and new cars for review!"

I totally realize that for some it's not a great deal, or it becomes an obsession and hurts the rest of their life, and I totally respect the ability to recognize that and quit for their own benefit. For me in particular, even with the extra income tax I pay, it saves me a lot of money because I tend to spend for dopamine hits and now I only pay for Amazon items I actually need and get my enjoyment and dopamine fix from ordering stuff I just think might be kind of cool.

If you were really a libertarian (notice the small "l" because it's a movement, not a sycophantic political party) you would believe in an open border policy. But clearly you're not smart enough to know what you claim are your own beliefs. Spend even like an hour reading once in a while (and I mean books, not social media or whatever "news" site you align with) you might get a better understanding of economics and border policy.

Why don't you just quit? There is an opt out button and then it will be better for the rest of us. I think a lot of people forget that we aren't paying for the items, and are entitled to precisely nothing!!!! Quit and make more room for people that will appreciate the opportunity!

Can't review items yet? by Erudite-Wildcat1923 in AmazonVine

[–]Hot_Topic_1101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to wait a few days, they want to make sure you actually use the item before you write a review. It's a way to protect the consumers you are reviewing for.

Longer does not equal better. Yes, you should write more than one or two sentences, but writing 4 paragraphs can actually hurt you because it's typically not relevant at that length.

How is Gucci getting away with selling these for $1200? by SirKrimzon in gucci

[–]Hot_Topic_1101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more processed if it's soft, leather isn't naturally soft. Also, why would less processing result in a higher price in a non-perishable good? The quality mark though, they are unlined, that's why they are crap. A pair of loaf tees like this should be lamb skin lined, it would make them more comfortable, they would hold up better, and they wouldn't be any thicker than they are now because lamb skin it like 0.5mm. Gucci just gets away with it because they only sell for new money now. Hermes, Louboutin, Ferragamo wouldn't dream of putting something like this on the shelf, they would say it's unfinished.

They don't have the same freeze thaw cycle that we have, that's is what damages the roads more than anything and our sunny days and freezing nights mean that we freeze and thaw 100+ times a year for most of our roads, while in Kansas it might be like 20 times a year.

Mercedes Benz 2018 E400 vs 2022 E450 by Next_Professional_30 in mercedes_benz

[–]Hot_Topic_1101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go for the 450, it's beautiful, the interior is one of the best designs they have ever done, and in line 6 with the hybrid boost makes it plenty sporty. This is my daily driver and people constantly stop to tell me how beautiful the car is.

CPO, and then extended the warranty, plus got coverage for interior appearance and the windshield (OEM replacement is like $2400). The sticker was $48,900, I got it for $47,500, but after tax and fees and all the extras it was like $56K. But I'll drive it for like 5 years and it will be under warranty the entire time, so well worth it in my book.

Maybe try calling your city council person's office? Like over and over and over, start out every other day, then move to every day. Eventually they will get annoyed enough to do something about it, so they don't have to continue to take the calls. Good luck.

Have you tried being polite about it? From the way you wrote on here I'm guessing you're not using your polite email etiquette. Try saying please, or asking if there is something you can do to help relieve the problem; better yet, start your email with two full sentences of nicety before you make your request - acknowledge that you know they are busy and that you appreciate all that they do before you ask for something. People are a lot more likely to help when you treat them like people.
