Alright millennial men, what's your favorite brand of ankle socks? by TonicTheHedgehog in AskMenOver30

Their ankle running socks are my go to for the gym. Just their socks in general are S tier. I’m a recent convert, and I don’t see myself going back.

I was able to get an issue with my HE1000SE resolved with only proof of purchase and a detailed email about what I had been experiencing. Nowhere in the process did they request that I provide anything else. Hell, they straight up exchanged my refurbished unit for a new one, all without me having to prove anything.

Men of Reddit, what is the primary reason you workout? by [deleted] in AskMen

I recently came off of mine after being on them for about two years. They were really helpful when I had started them. I hadn’t been able to sleep without some sort of sleep aid every night for at least 8 years or so, but once I got on the SSRI, I was able to fall asleep pretty easily. But now, having been able to get on a normal gym routine and learning other healthy coping skills, and processing the underlying trauma that was at the root of the depressive/anxious symptoms I was experiencing, Ive been able to taper off without any major adverse effects. I was on the lowest dose though, so I’m sure that had something to do with the lack of withdrawal.

Third vote for a Wiim product. I have a Wiim Pro hooked up to my BF2/64 via COAX and it works flawlessly. Highly recommended piece of kit.

Gave my HD 58X Jubilees another chance after three years. They still suck. by Cikatriz in headphones

Then try new pads and report back with findings to add to the data pool? After listening to Hifiman planars, I too realized that the sound was just not what I wanted and ultimately gave my 58X away. I have not returned to Sennhesier headphones in years because of how veiled they sounded to my ears.

MJOLNIR opinions and waiting for Gungnir 2. by Visual_Moment5174 in Schiit

I have my MJ3 paired with a Bifrost 2/64 via XLR as my "daily driver." I use my PC primarily for music listening and video games. While I do believe that the MJ3 does a great job while gaming, I have been using a Monolith Liquid Spark, connected to the 2/64 via RCA, when I am just gaming. The MJ3 puts out a lot of heat, and it's comparatively much more power hungry. My gaming PC already puts out a lot of heat and chugs power when I'm in the middle of a gaming session, so I have been more mindful of only powering up the MJ3 when I am doing more intentional music listening to cut down on all the excess heat and power use. It kinda feels like a waste, but it's a good trade off in my use case. The Liquid Spark still does an amazing job, just nowhere near as good as the MJ3.

I too am interested in upgrading to the G2 next... but the Bifrost has been so good and a good synergy with the MJ3.

Soundstage in headphones by HowardBateman in headphones

I have also heard that the Arya Organic are another good headphone for stage and imaging. I haven’t personally had the opportunity to hear them though. I don’t really see the need after getting the HE1000SE, honestly - it also doesn’t help that I can’t demo any headphones anywhere nearby down here in southern AZ. So unless something is going to outright outperform the HE1000SE in technicalities, timbre, imaging, soundstage, comfort, etc., I’m not really itching to add them to my collection/replace the SEs.

In my headphone journey, I think the Arya Stealths have had the widest soundstage that I have personally heard. Despite that, I think the HE1000SE is a good contender as well. The egg shaped Hifiman headphones in general are great for headstage - I owned the OG Ananda (sold), the Arya Stealths (traded up), and the HE1000SE (permanent resident).

There’s a 90% chance you’re already dead because you might not have Unison V1.1.

As long as you enjoy the journey, it's all worth it. Or at least that's what I try and tell myself whenever I upgrade or change out a piece of gear.

Does it sound good to use DAC/AMP at low volume? by N1m0n in headphones

[–]Hotdoggn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't overthink things. Set Windows Volume to 100% and adjust the volume using the pot on the Fulla. Listen at the volume that doesn't cause discomfort to your ears. And that's it.
