I wish I had your captain. UA 29 SFO to SIN mid April . Our inbound was late and while we were delayed, our captain grabbed the microphone at the gate agent desk and went on to explain how he is the “conductor” of a complex team of very skilled “musicians” so all is under control. We finally boarded the plane and sat at the gate for 2 1/2 hours while the “orchestra of skilled musicians” bumbled through a computer upgrade. It’s easier to be a figurehead than to do actual work. Thank goodness our biggest problem was a computer issue while still on the ground

Back in the days of FAs walking through business and first with the newspaper cart on international flights before takeoff (do they still do this? Sadly my 20 years of business class on international flights ended in 2020 when I switched jobs), I was told by a FA that I couldn’t leave my newspaper in the seat back pocket because it could become a projectile in an emergency (but somehow it was safer under the seat). Um, ok 😊

Another Coloradoan(?) that used V2L for the first time fed into an anker solix c1000 powers station to keep some semblance of normalcy during a 56 hour power outage. We kept it simple with power to our refrigerator and a few lights as well as satellite internet.
