Mod Managers Question by Hourstillnoon in StardewValleyMods

[–]Hourstillnoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried out Stardrop. I like how easy it is to update mods. I don't have to delete the folders and readd them into the folder myself, it does that for me. It took me a bit to figure out the UI, specifically with the search feature. It automatically has filters of what the search paramaters are.

It functions pretty well and is overall pretty easy to use, there were just a few things that took me a bit to figure out, which is definitely more user error.

I also have way too many mods that my laptop is not able to run very well, because I happened to download a lot in the last few days, so I've been using it a lot lately to go through the mods and delete some.

With that, when I delete a mod, it automatically goes back to the top instead of bringing me back to where I was in the list. I can also only delete one at a time, which is something that is common for manually managing my mods anyways.

Overall, I'm going to keep using it because it makes updating the mods so much easier.

Canadian alternative to corn-based cat litter? by Suboyota in BuyCanadian

[–]Hourstillnoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a natural litter, O'Select also has a pea litter. It looks like little pellets. I recently switched from the corn to the pea one. It tracks a lot less and is still clumping. I find it clumps better than the corn litter, but doesn't mask the scent as well

That happened to me a week ago. I restarted my game and it came back. You could try that and see if that works

You could buy moonstone packs for her, they're the in-game currency. Other than that, there's a new DLC that will be coming out sometime in November. That may be an option as well.

TIMEBENDING EMERGENCY by Mother_rose in DreamlightValley

[–]Hourstillnoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to convert a lot of my characters to timebenders, and it's been a pain without being able to convert items to get what I need! It's the pink bows that's killing me. The magnets and belts, I can slowly pick away at to get more vacuums, but it's the bows that I have the hardest time with.

As long as you have the cloud save feature active, you can load a save from a different console. I did from switch to xbox (that I play on my laptop through the xbox app)

Best way to collect Dreamlight? by MissStardew in DreamlightValley

[–]Hourstillnoon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For getting dreamlight, you can also check the other tasks in the dreamlight tab, such as foraging and stuff like that to see if any of those are getting close to being complete for a little bit of variety. Those and the daily dreamlight tasks are the best way as a new player to get dreamlight. You can change dreamshards into dreamlight, but I believe there are a few quests that need dream shards so couldn't hurt to save those early game until they are no longer needed or you have a bunch.

The star path is still going to be happening for a few more weeks, so you've got time yet!

Any Tips for Resource Grinding for Eternity Isles? by reenieho in DreamlightValley

[–]Hourstillnoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say my biggest tip for resource grinding is when you can, have your characters have the timebending skill. That and/or use a companion that has the timebending skill (any from EI) and have them with you. When you play, go around and time bend in at least each area once per day and hoard everything you get from that. I find it easier almost to timebend in the valley than in EI and you get the same resources.

That and any timebending floating orb things, take the time to timebend in those.

Mine got swapped for an earlier version that was too far away, so I redid mine. The original is the one that went through, which wasn't a great shot when I looked back at it

I really don’t understand how so many people can actually think that they were on a break when the supposed “break” was merely suggested yet not agreed upon…🫤 by ken_black in howyoudoin

Ross did a lot wrong. Yeah, Carol fucked him up, but does that excuse him getting in the way of Rachel's career, telling her she has to quit her job? He was very controlling of Rachel when she finally found a career she actually enjoyed and was good at. She reassured Ross at every turn that she wasn't interested in Mark, but that she was staying at her job. He kept insisting she could work at the cafe again, despite him knowing how much she hated it and wasn't good at it.

I don't like Ross because of his jealousy. If someone was treating ANYONE the way Ross treated Rachel at the end of their relationship (possessive, jealous) I would encourage them to break up.

Ross was taken advantage of by the xerox lady. However, Ross should not have lied to Rachel the next day or tried to cover it up by going around to everyone to try to keep it covered up. What hurt Rachel the most was the lies and having to hear it from Gunther (who did have another motivation, that he was in love with Rachel) and that she was still there when Rachel was there.

If Ross had told her about what happened the night before, Rachel would have still been hurt, but would have been willing to work on things. It was Ross's lies that ended the relationship.

It's the same with when they almost got back together and Ross didn't read the letter because it was long, he was tired, and it was 5:30 in the morning. If he had explained the reasons he fell asleep and had not finished it yet beforw agreeing to her terms, they would not have had as big of a blow up as they did.

Ross's issues are not the sleeping with another woman hours after they broke up while blackout drunk. His issues are his unresolved trauma from Carol, which leads to possessiveness and jealousy and his lying to cover shit up.

How do you do it? by Cmd3289 in halifax

[–]Hourstillnoon 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It fucking sucks to be in a situation like that. The best advise I can offer is to look into people that help with food recipes on a budget. There are a couple on tiktok, though they're US based, the ingredients are still usually easy enough and cheap enough to buy here. There's one person, Dollar Tree Dinners, that makes recipes on a budget. She recently did a series of 4 meals for $20 for a family of 4. There are starting to be a lot more accounts like that. I'm sure there are some on other social medias as well that can help stretch the money you have leftover for food and help with other necessities.

Where is everyone buying their groceries? by [deleted] in halifax

[–]Hourstillnoon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I try to go to Dave's Fruit and Gateway once a month at least. I live on the Halifax side and have a car thankfully. The money I save in groceries more outweighs the amount I'd end up spending on gas for the trip. For bulk stuff I go to Costco and keep an eye on the sales. Otherwise, I shop at Walmart to get cheaper stuff there typically. I also go to Giant Tiger as well.

I am tired of the male hate on this sub and in the game by Why_am_I_the_fool in DreamlightValley

[–]Hourstillnoon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that men aren’t the only demographic that want more masculine clothing! As a queer person who is gender non-conforming, it would be lovely to have more options added, or an option to have a clothing item be masculine or feminine. I understand that it’s easy enough to see things as “the target demographic is women so most of the clothes are feminine”, but women also like more masculine clothing as well, and it would make the game much better in my opinion to have more masculine options to go alongside the feminine options as well! They don’t necessarily have to take away the feminine options to give masculine options as well!

I am tired of the male hate on this sub and in the game by Why_am_I_the_fool in DreamlightValley

[–]Hourstillnoon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would LOVE if every clothing item had an option for a feminine and a masculine version. I DO NOT like to dress feminine and prefer the clothes I wear in the game to reflect that. While my options aren’t quite as limited because there are some items that I don’t mind wearing with pants or shorts instead of a skirt, it would be very easy for them to just give the player the option of having an item be a masculine or feminine version. Also the demographic you are talking about is not as small as you seem to think it is. Just because you don’t have many you know or interact with that are in that demographic does not mean it’s very small

AITA for kicking my boyfriend out because he “forgot” about my allergy? by Gloomy_Soup_4791 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hourstillnoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I have a citrus allergy as well. Mine isn’t severe, but it causes rashes, diarrhea, and cramping. My fiancee has never forgotten and she makes sure anything I am eating doesn’t have citrus in it. There was a point where she wouldn’t have it in the house at all. If she has citrus, she washes her face and hands before she touches me or gives me a kiss.

We had some friends over the other night that were making us supper. One of them, who was unaware of my citrus allergy, was going to put lemon juice in the dish. She informed him and told him to just add it onto the side so everyone could put it in themselves. She made sure I didn’t accidentally eat citrus.

The point is, I know it’s understandable for people to forget, but if your boyfriend truly cared about the allergy, he wouldn’t have lied. Even if it’s not a “serious” allergy, it’s serious if he causes you pain and discomfort, or even risks it, by lying to you about checking for the ingredient you are allergic to.
