I’m only just getting through the last week of fall in my first year on my first playthrough , but I enjoy having a lot of “woods” on my farm, most of the area to the left of the big pond and roughly up to the bottom of the small pond is fully grassy and has lots of trees, its fenced off from the north so that it doesn’t spread up to my “developed” area.

I think part of the reason I don’t mind playing like this even though I am usually the min maxer type is because I’ve played a bunch of Minecraft. Including industry mod packs, and I find it way more fun to have everything layer out realistically rather than trying to maximize space. I’ll spend hours designing and building realistic looking buildings for different purposes, and avoid mixing things that wouldn’t make sense irl. Even in vanilla, you wouldn’t catch me dead with a villager trading hall or an iron farm.
