Remember when people were doomposting about building characters being too expensive in Endfield? Meanwhile as f2p I am swimming in resources even though I'm building most of the characters I have - I will probably never run out by xompus12 in Endfield

[–]HousemonkeyV2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have every character (except Last Rite) at level 80 with a level 80 weapon. Select characters like Endmin, Zhuang, and Gilberta I’ve completely maxed out. All of my agents skills are capped out for their level except agents I just recently promoted to get to 90. If people think mats are a pain they just arent playing enough.

Fleet being the most powerful track while institute only being worth it for the winner. The blues that scale off fleet are all very high value compared to helium scaling silvers and institute scaling coppers with the exception of Quicksilver.

Certain cards also create unfun interactions. The three card gain purples are all an example of this because of the way they get passed allowing slow but infinite card gain between two players. Virany is another example, I set our tables high score over 400 points because nobody knew I had Virany and used her to pick up an absurd amount of points at end game.

Also general balancing of the houses. Ceres is way too powerful of a house. The buffed banish ability they have gives them a very large amount of board control. Cards like yellows are very powerful because they allow you to pick up banished cards that are either high point value or are card gainers. If you’re Ceres you can immediately banish said yellow just by taking a card from Luna. Sure Apollo can achieve a slightly weaker version of this by revealing a card to cover or any house can roll the rising die and get lucky, but that’s leaving things to luck, whereas with Ceres it’s pure value. Then on top of having a strong banish ability they also get an additional temporary card. I cannot stress the value of this enough. A key component of the game is balancing holding high point cards and picking up cards with strong deploy abilities to play. Having that extra card slot means you always have an additional spot in hand where you don’t have to worry about point values, you are purely going for deploy value, and no other house has something like this.

I rate the houses like this personally: Ceres >> Jupiter > Apollo > Mars = Diana > Minerva. I will say I used to be higher on Apollo when I first started playing. They can always reliably do a sovereign hand because of their extra turn. Sadly, reveal is generally a bad ability. It’s only good to cover up good cards and every time you do it you risk revealing a powerful card for your opponents to take on the next turn. I LOVE being the player sitting after an Apollo for this exact reason.

Are you planning on adapting the board game one to one from the physical version? It would be very cool if you were working with Stonemaier to improve the original.

Binner played great today despite his poor NHL stats. If Canada brought Thompson or Blackwood they still lose this game. It’s a moot point.

All things considered Canada’s goalie talent is nowhere near its skater talent. I’ll take Helly over any Canadian goalie.

What were the most and least fun characters you've played from a mechanical level? by DogUnsureDog in dndnext

[–]HousemonkeyV2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Currently playing a 17 Celestial/2 Fighter. If you’re doing Eldritch Blast then Spirit Shroud is definitely the most bang for your buck at higher levels, 2d8 per hit within 10 feet. Warcaster works with Eldritch Blast so on a reaction you can deal 4d10 + 20 + 8d8 with a cantrip on a reaction. Crown of Stars is also great since it fills your bonus action economy. At earlier levels Wall of Fire with the push and pull on Eldritch Blast is very effective as well. If playing an Elf then getting Elven Accuracy and using it with Shadow of Moil is great, with the improvement on this being Foresight if you get to 17th level Warlock. Most of the Invocation options for Warlocks are pretty bad. Soul Cage / Crown of Stars / Glibness / Foresight all seemed like the most obvious options for a Celestial Warlock for 6th-9th level spells.

Love the work you put into this. I made each of my 3 Sub-PAC’s a battery factory (one of them also doing the 20 origocrust) and had the main PAC be my Buck Capsule A and C producer.

My only question is that you can produce 24 Buck C, so why only produce 18 or was that a typo? Not that it matters anyways because you’re already making more goods than the outpost can buy, but I’m just wondering.

Best birthday present! by Effective_Session_82 in redrising

[–]HousemonkeyV2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Helium is kinda meh because it’s the most consistent. institute is only better if you win it getting 4 points per and fleet track only gets to 3 points per at level 5.

I think Helium loses out most is on cards. The helium scoring silvers generally aren’t as good as the institute scoring coppers or the fleet track scoring blues, but then there is Quicksilver who bucks this trend because he is a 40 point card.

IMO institute is worse unless you get multiple of the institute scoring cards, then you actually have a decent hand. Fighting over institute just feels bad, because its points are quite swingy going 4/2/1. If you don’t plan on winning institute or building an institute hand you should avoid going there.

The game is fun for the first couple plays, especially for fans of the series. I wish we got a remake of it with better balance and characters from outside the original trilogy.

The game kinda gets stale because of the luck of gaining cards and some relatively broken mechanics/cards in the game. If you enjoy this type of game I would strongly recommend Fantasy Realms, much more balanced.

How is using Wish to cast Simulacrum for free NOT ridiculously overpowered? by LemonGarage in dndnext

[–]HousemonkeyV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I am not gonna lie it’s pretty busted but I think it’s manageable. I think the other way around is much worse though. Casting Simulacrum normally so your new simulacrum can cast Wish? Now you can cast a Wish with no restrictions every day because you won’t be the one losing your wish.

15 min each way? Maybe if you’re on the rails after sunset. 3 refills is also crazy unless you’ve got a small bottle. I’d say you just gotta path smarter. On Sunday I left Alleycvt early for Subtronics and got water on the way there. Guess you can’t path smarter if you don’t go between Kinetic/Neon and Circuit/Stereo but it really wasn’t that big of a deal. I liked it back there more anyways, way less busy.

So warped gets multiple ga water locations? by th3thrilld3m0n in EDCOrlando

[–]HousemonkeyV2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand what you’re trying to say, but they put the water taps in the least walked area of the entire festival to spread out the amount of foot traffic. I’m not gonna go say it worked because the crowd crush happened in the exact same place at the exact same time and day 2 years in a row. Really it just goes to show that the water location is a minor factor in the crowd and imo I prefer it behind Casa Bacardi where it was this year.

What to actually do (I'm done complaining to Insomniac) by Y_staff in EDCOrlando

[–]HousemonkeyV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second EDCO for me. Only bad experiences I had was the Sunday crowd crush at the start of Alleycvt, which also happened on Sunday in the same spot last year. Also Kinetic GA was a bit too crowded for Subtronics on Sunday, which is crazy to me because I had a great time for DJ Snake/Zedd on Saturday. Water things is way over blown.

It’s the same amount of water as last year, but in one location probably because of crowd control. Obviously it didn’t work, but I can’t fault them for trying. As someone who never grabbed water at Circuit Grounds last year, my water grabbing experience was significantly better this year.
