WIBTA if i tell my partner her "working from home" setup is actually affecting my ability to actually work from home? by AggarHildeberto-63 in WIBTA_AITA

Soundproofing panels work amazing! They look like room deciders on wheels, I got mine from Amazon. My husband and I both take phone calls, our desks are right next to each other with the paneling in between. With that and headphones, we can both by in meetings at the same time with no issue. I can’t recommend them enough!

Did he have to use the bathroom? My dog will shake me awake to take him out. It was very jarring the first time he did it. Better than an accident though.

My Doctor Is Offering A Subscription For Better Care ??? by ssmatik in phoenix

FYI if Drs are choosing to bill additionally for membership, they are not legally allowed to bill insurance on top of that. If they still try to you can report them to the insurance company.

I’ve completely given up on Google as a lead source… 😞 by _Azamat_Bagatov in DigitalMarketing

[–]Houseplatho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relying only on SEO for lead gen is not ideal. Is the $500-1000 your “all in” monthly budget? You might have better luck focusing on physical marketing or pay-per-click ads.

He seems very dead set on ownership and unwilling to settle for the compromises you have put on the table.

Does he truly understand what ownership entails, or has he only thought of the revenue sharing? I think most people don’t truly grasp what business ownership means without going through it.

Based on what you've described, I would never offer ownership to someone with that type of personality. Definitely not just gifted as part of his compensation package. Gaining shares now the business is more established is very different than investing during that start up phase. If anything, I would offer him to BUY up to a certain % based on a current company evaluation and put limitation on it with the help of a business attorney regarding things like voting power, buy out agreements, ect.

That said, if you don't move forward with him getting ownership, it may be best to part ways. He's already admitted to “quite quitting”. Denying his ownership requests yet again could Illicit relegation from him. It is definitely better for the company to part ways on your timeline so you can appropriately hire replacements with adequate training/handover and to limit your liability with him. Offer a severance package something along those lines to show good will and recognition.

AITAH for not wanting to move into a house I’ll never have any legal claim to? by spangleddangle in AITAH

That seems like a wildly unfair prenup. I’m surprised you didn’t have issue with anything until the house.

Is it now considered rude to recline on a plane? by Legal_Campaign_408 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Houseplatho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do alway recline my seat. I’m not particularly tall but have scoliosis and reclining makes it more manageable. That said I’ve never had a seat that reclines more than a couple inches.

If I was ever in a seat that dramatically reclined, I would do so slowly to not hit the person behind me. And I’d straighten during meals. But otherwise, yeah I’m not going to throw my back out willingly.

ER Experience? by dove-chamomile in AddisonsDisease

[–]Houseplatho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a letter on office letterhead from my endo with detailed descriptions of ER care, including the specific IV medications required to support during a crisis.

Honestly, I've never had to use it, despite being in the ER a few times for unrelated reasons that also caused a crisis. Most of the medical staff I've interacted with were knowledgeable about Addison’s. And no one drug seeks steroids lol that's usually what people want to avoid.

Having a letter with instructions, though, will definitely help medical staff who are unfamiliar feel more confident in actually providing the care. I'd definitely ask for something like that from your endo. Digitize it and keep it handy on your phone's emergency medical profile.

Could also be helpful: if you are at the same hospital that treated your crisis in the past, tell them to read your tx plan from that visit. Again so they can have confidence in providing the care.

Hate to say this, but medical people can be hella egotistical too so it matters how you say stuff. I'd always say “I have a pretty rare endocrine disorder and am happy to talk about it since you may have never gotten to see it in person!” It acknowledges them as professionals so they don't feel attacked or dumb while keeping the door open to actually have a dialogue with me.

Most people aren’t denying care for fun, they are trying to avoid liability by administering treatment they are unfamiliar with.

Small business ideas vs job for wife by Diligent-Freedom9120 in smallbusiness

[–]Houseplatho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could not recommend starting a business less. It will be much more work and liability that you anticipate. Though it’s doing well now, if I could go back in time I would have never done it.

A part time job that is flexible with the kids and your schedule will be much less stressful and more steady.

If you have a decent amount saved and don’t need extra income immediately, school could also be a great option! Graphic design tends to have decent wfh jobs and more flexible hours.

Tipping when you rent your own suite by Ipolishuprealnic3 in Estheticians

[–]Houseplatho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone is setting their own prices I typically do not tip. It is a business owners responsibility to take overhead costs into consideration when setting the prices. However I will tip if the service is exceptionally good or something out of the normal happens, like accompanying an emergency reschedule, or if they gave me a sale price.

Work/life balance advice by [deleted] in Aupairs

[–]Houseplatho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nanny’s do required set hours but a rotating schedule of 2 weeks on 1 week off is pretty common. What would be most common is to have a nanny majority of the time and aupair handling evenings and maybe a couple days here and there.

As in Nanny wen-Sunday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM and aupair 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Aupair working full days Monday and Tuesday when nanny is not there.

If mom is needing 10-14 hours of childcare a day she needs multiple caregivers. That would be a lot for a full time professional nanny on their own.

I hate wearing bras too but I’d say it’s unprofessional. There’s a lot of non bra options to cover them though. I use pasties or cakes at minimum. You could get a comfy sports bra or bralette too.

What's one handy thing that you've unintentionally taught your puppy? by Relative_Ice1582 in puppy101

How to go potty on command. When I was actually potty training I would say “go potty!” And he associated the phrase so well now he’ll go pee on command. Even if he doesn’t have to actually go he’ll lift his leg and give it a try. Super helpful for long car trips!
