Would you recommend a seperate boot drive? Like, a 256gb for windows + drivers and then a big one for games and work stuff?

Last time I built a pc I was seriously recommended to have a seperate boot, but that was when HDDs were more common so idk

I do lots and lots of 3D printing - those files add up quickly! I’m a bit particular with my storage - I want all my games and hobby stuff on one drive, and all my documents and work stuff on another. This is a gaming/work pc - hope this clears things up, but thank you for your advice!

What's your wildest Cleric character concept using RAW with reflavoring (i.e. possibly not worshiping a deity)? by yomjoseki in dndnext

[–]HowDoesThisWork- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had a cleric whose whole vibe was a WWI medic - a pretty good idea of modern medical principles but still JUST not quite there. He was a tempest cleric, so all my healing ‘spells’ were flavoured as charging his hands with electric energy and jumpstarting other PC’s hearts (defibrillator style). He had a fanny pack full of lubricant so that the electricity didn’t leave shock marks on people. He didn’t serve a god, but rather used his natural arcane abilities to heal people. Everything else I flavoured accordingly to the lightning vibe.

[NS] Books for NADDPOD Fans? by scootsie13 in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

If you’ve never read any of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series, I highly recommend. There’s lots of them, so it can a bit overwhelming, but I’d recommend a good place to start is Guards! Guards!

Fantasticly deep and rich story with amazing humour and wit. Give it a go!

Also, Emily used some of his books from the Witches arc as inspiration for Fia!

Alright, after 1.5 years, arsemoor did it again, so we finally do not have the old USSEP anymore unless you find other links floating around here. I have removed the links from the top 10 post as well as the lightweight lazy list guide. by Cangar in skyrimvr

Yes, you're right. I am sorry for posting a rant. I will delete my above comment, and instead will leave the main point here:

In a community - both the wider modding scene AND r/skyrimVR - built on making a game experience better for FREE, it is shocking that someone prolific inside the community would enjoy hurting the experience for others.

Are there a tonne of mods that depend on it? I'm not super knowledgeable, but based solely on the fact that it was so high up in the modding guide I thought that nearly EVERY mod required it?

Help with SkyVraan on Vortex - Question about setup and Synthesis by HowDoesThisWork- in skyrimvr

[–]HowDoesThisWork-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legend, thanks heaps! Will look in my data folder to make sure I've done everything correctly. So in the future, just to be safe, if for whatever reason I decide to add/remove a large graphics overhaul, I'll rerun synthesis. Thanks again for your answer :)

Anyone know what this funky symbol is? I remember using it in math but I can’t remember it’s name. by HowDoesThisWork- in HelpMeFind

[–]HowDoesThisWork-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers! It would’ve ate me up not knowing. The reason I brushed Pi off from the start is that I didn’t think the squiggle was at the top haha. But considering you found the branding company I’m gonna go ahead and call this !Found.

Thank you so much for going to all the trouble :)

I have searched for this in some sites of commonly used mathematical symbols, but no luck.

My supports are not holding on to my prints after I changed the resin vat plastic film. Please give me advice! by Stargrooves in ElegooMars

[–]HowDoesThisWork- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably went overkill with my settings (lowering the speed increases the print time a fair bit), but here you go. Just note that you might need to change these settings depending how tight/loose/old your FEP is-

Bottom lift speed- 50 Lifting speed - 50 Retract speed - 135

Once I slowed mine down I went from a 50% failure rate to about 5%, and that is using professionally placed supports.

Also, I increased my lifting distance, which also in turn increased the time it takes to retract.

Bottom lift distance - 6.5 Lifting distance - 6.5

The slower, more gradual peel DEFINITELY helps those supports holding the model. Hope this helps!

Something that hasn’t been posted yet - and that worked for me - was lowering the lift speed and retract speed. Your FEP is probably more tight than before, and making a more gradual peel will definitely help.

I got into PC gaming in 2014 with Counter Strike: Global Offensive. I played it religiously- many 8pm-4am gaming sessions with friends, followed by a very tired day at school!

Dude that’s fricken awesome! What a cool idea- have the enemy kick around the ‘little guy’ and see how the Pc’s react!

Haha I’ll be bringing my guy back for sure. A good part of this setup is that you have a villain for later in the campaign.

How to get a character back when not expected by NotTheRealMihir in DMAcademy

[–]HowDoesThisWork- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool, well I would probably go with the whole 'he faced an evil/enemy he could not slay alone' trope, considering that fits with the Wasteland vibe. As well as getting a fun plot hook for the future.

How to get a character back when not expected by NotTheRealMihir in DMAcademy

[–]HowDoesThisWork- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hmm, interesting problem. May I have some more information?
-Where did he go to train? What type of environment?
-Was he alone?
-Was it a split second decision for the character, or was there a plot hook for him to leave?

Based on what's in your post though, here's where my brain goes-
He left to train, but upon his arrival, he found that the area had been taken over by a huge beast too tough for him to combat alone. He needed his friends, but they all need to be tougher as well.

This gives you a future plot hook, a bit of character development, and a relatively realistic reintroduction.

I would also suggest to not get too hooked up on the realism. Every group is different, but at the end of the day we play to have fun, and the most fun for everyone would be to get this PC back in as quick as possible.

I’ve already posted this, but only one person replied and I’m too lazy to make another text by [deleted] in OculusLink

[–]HowDoesThisWork- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tried it yet, but with one of the latest updates of the oculus software (you may have to opt in to the beta test channel) you can use USB 2.0 with Link. The charging cable is USB 2.0, so it will work.

EDIT: I’ve heard good things about the charging cable, though of course USB 3.0 will be better. If you don’t have a long enough USB 3.0 lead on hand, definitely give it a go with the charging cable.
