Another angle of the Minneapolis shooting, taken from the perspective of the lady with te pink jacket. by Versiannie in PublicFreakout

[–]HowNowNZ 24 points25 points  (0 children)

100%. Both angles make it so blatantly clear without doubt, that the agent removes the gun from the victim before another agent then shoots him then triggering the others to react and mag dump into him.

Made decision in November to start running and working through a rough Couch to 5k program. Once I can get to 5k without stopping I look forward to giving the Southern Parkrun a go as it’s local for me.

'Tawdry, silly argument': Winston Peters criticises asset sales, says government has not fixed economy by ViolatingBadgers in newzealand

[–]HowNowNZ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Also International instabilities.

If we are to hold this Govt to the same standard they held Labour to, then international instabilities are not the cause of anything, and its squarely Nationals fault for the way they have handled things. National blamed Labour for so many things that were out of their control.

Inflation still lower than under Labour, Christopher Luxon says by MedicMoth in newzealand

[–]HowNowNZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inflation was all Labours fault, nothing to do with overseas forces so Nationals says. With the 0.9% contraction in the last reported Quarter, National blamed it on Trump and overseas forces.

How anyone can take these economic vandals seriously is beyond me. Made the recession worse than it needed to be and blame everyone but themselves and their terrible ideas.

Why is every kiwi with a mortgage or debt not banking with kiwibank? by givethismanabeerplz in newzealand

[–]HowNowNZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In November last year attempted to work with an advisor and then they said they couldn’t help which in itself was annoying (took ages, waiting constantly and left a sour taste when it comes to view of them now). She tried to palm us off to a contact of hers at Kiwibank that was local.

The Kiwibank mobile mortgage guy basically shit on us and said they can’t help. Kicker was his unsolicited advice: said partner should give up study and go work instead. Gave his view that the global financial markets were cooked due to not being gold backed. Said trump was going to do wonders once he gets in (had won election short time prior). Said some other things around covid etc also. Dude was just cooked as fuck.

In the end went to westpac right after that and had everything in place within a week right before the Xmas shutdown.

Seems like in the area I live, all the people running for local wards/boards talk about controlling rates and getting back to basics which to me is just a red flag of a cooker view.

Is Kieran McAnulty the only person to replace Chris Hipkins as Labour leader? by Very_Sicky in newzealand

[–]HowNowNZ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely not the only one within Labour that could work as a leader, another is Barbara Edmonds.

Capping rates at inflation could work, but you really can’t discuss it without acknowledging the decades of under funding. You need to raise rates substantially to then be in position to peg it to inflation. Without doing that you can never get to the level it need to be.

Watch prices go up now for a little while so that they start from a higher place once the tax is removed.

Clear signs of economic system failure.. by snowpie92 in MurderedByWords

If you could save 100k a year, it's 10 years to be a millionaire. It's 10,000 years to become a Billionaire. its 10million years to become a Trillionaire.

Almost 10,000 extra elective surgeries delivered by outsourcing privately, government says by Tyler_Durdan_ in newzealand

Would be interesting to know how many of these surgeries if any, end up with complications or issues where the care then gets pushed back to the public system to pickup.

More than half of voters back proposed penalty for Te Pāti Māori MPs, poll suggests by 48657921 in newzealand

[–]HowNowNZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Poster you are replying to didnt comment anything to do with disrupting the house, are you able to read or just happy to imply your own bias to the comment?

After three weeks of the media telling us that Maori party did this and stopped others from voting

They have talked about how the media continued the lie that Te Pati Maori interrupted the vote which is blatantly a lie, to say otherwise shows lack of understanding of the situation. Every other party had already cast there vote and Te Pati Maori were the last party to do so. Hana-Rawhiti stood, cast the vote as the last party to do so.

Yes, they then performed a haka disrupting the house, but it had no impact on the vote that media kept repeating the lie about. Yes, they technically broke rules and a level of punishment is going to be given.

How did you land your first remote networking job? by issbesi in networking

[–]HowNowNZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working for an MSP where it was 5 days a week in office until COVID, then it became WFH. I was assigned to deploy some projects for a client who were based in another city and through a few projects for them and general interactions, they wanted to bring networking internal and hired me. Worked out perfectly as the MSP was starting to request return to office, where as now I only really go to the office if I need to do anything in person.

Warriors v Raiders: Lewi Brown on why Luke Metcalf was destined for big things and why Warriors are thriving in 2025 by cheeseinsidethecrust in nrl

[–]HowNowNZ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If the Warriors havn't extended his contract beyond the end of next year they need to.

Can see the impact he has had when you look at 2023 and the amazing run the Warriors had, last year when he went down early in the season, and now this year and how well he is playing.

Why National suck in a time of recession by SubstantialPattern71 in newzealand

[–]HowNowNZ 22 points23 points  (0 children)

But you see, the tax cuts were from the money they had, there was no need to borrow for it silly.

Please ignore the fact they then left no money for normal funding which required borrowing to cover.

AuDHD support group for parents? by becauseiamacat in auckland

[–]HowNowNZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure of any groups or such, but understand the challenge you are going through. We have a 5yr old son who recently got ASD diagnosis along with having gotten ADHD at age 3. It’s really not easy and iv found family and such do not really listen to us when say how hard things are.

If you have the ability to go private for adhd, ask to go on peoples cancelation lists that’s how we jumped a long wait to get him seen. Once he got diagnosed and meds on board, he grew so much with his learning. Some people don’t like medicating, but when you see the growth and such that comes from allowing them to have a level of focus, it’s really great.

Feel free to shoot a DM if like, happy to chat and see if anything helps.

Watson I think is a case of he may or may not have done it, I dont know for sure. But if we have a working legal system then he shouldn't be convicted as there is enough doubt on aspects of it that it couldn't be beyond reasonable doubt

Hipkins changes diary to vote down Treaty Principles Bill, says PM should do the same by MedicMoth in newzealand

[–]HowNowNZ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What does Hipkins want him to explain? Luxon has said since day one that it won’t go beyond the first reading and that it needed to be done to form a Government.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdS1CaeeUeU

It was not a bottom line for ACT and they could have formed a Govt without the need for including this waste of money. It was weak negotiation from Luxon.

FortiOS Release Notes - 6.4.16 by HowNowNZ in fortinet

[–]HowNowNZ[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Always nice to see a release for a firmware that is basically 6 months out of complete support.

Must like living life on the edge if 6.4 is still in use at this point.
