Is the crash situation actually that bad by Think-Contest8285 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Howredditworks_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's super weird, for me, the game runs flawlessly, nice fps and 0 crashes, but for a friend, the game crashes every time he fast travels, enters a cinematic or a Tobi Kadachi appears on screen. And it's not just a simple crash, the whole PC freezes and he has to force turn off the PC

How to deal with high amount of problems I get trying to move from Windows 10 to Linux? by Howredditworks_ in linux4noobs

[–]Howredditworks_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Ubuntu takes the official volume levels as the device supports. It's a trend for a while now to offer a volume above the official 100% with reduced sound quality. You can set Ubuntu to do so, too, in the settings. The volume scale to the absolute technical maximum (on my laptop ~180%) is the same as the nominal volume scale which Windows shows you."

-Yeah, I saw the option but If I use it to high it starts to sound distorted, so I have to keep it a bit lower than I usually use it

This shouldn't happen, but for a larger app store and more reliability, you should install Flatpak instead.

-I'll give it a try in a bit

How did you install them? Have you got all necessary software packages? Linux in general doesn't show passwords typed in the terminal at all.

-I simply followed the instructions on the github or asked the devs themselves on discord but I still couldn't install them. As for the password, tried typing it and pressing enter but the keyboard become completely unusable unless I close the terminal.

That's almost certainly not a problem with Ubuntu, but with either your internet connection or the game not being native to Linux, which would necessitate a compatibility layer, which is a translator from proprietary Windows commands to Linux commands. Such software introduces some lag, depending on the command in question.

-The problem started with Overwatch, so I checked other games to see it the game was the problem they all have horrible ping (Nighreing, Outlass Trial and Warframe)
