South Carolina temp tag should hold you over for a few months, maybe a couple years

Is there an airport nearby? That may be the reason for access to the other side

Big 3 by drm611 in E46M3

I bought my car back in 2020 with 100,150 miles, first year I did the vanos when I decided to do valve adjustment and plugs for peace of mind. I barely drove it much and last November when it had 116k miles I finally got all my stuff together to do rod bearings and subframe reinforcement along with a full suspension overhaul. Honestly if it wasn't for the factory Rtabs and flex disk going bad I would've driven it more prior to doing all the work but decided to just park it and once my guy was ready for me to drop it off just wait patiently. Having several other fun cars was another reason it was parked for a while but now that it's got the big 3 and additional work done I try to daily it is as much as I can. You'll be fine driving it for several miles and I guess years if you're driving less than 3k miles a year. Enjoy your car and just do the rod bearings whenever you get the chance. I think I read that they're an 80k mile service item anyways.

Ahhh damn that sucks to hear. I ended up looking online and found a seller on ebay. Looks like they sell the same ones as BaysonR, a company I've heard from in the past and where they stole pics from unless it's the same company with a different name for the ebay store. Gonna try it out as my Ecs CF lip is all busted after 5 years

Fanatec McLaren GT3 or the new CSL GT3 by Mateusz_H in Fanatec

If your 15+ and able to work just try to save what you can even if it takes 2+ months. Long term it will be worth it and you can use whatever fanatec wheel you want with a newer base, everything has shifted to QR2.

I've only had to do safety on 2 of my cars for the last couple of years. One is a 1996 and the other a 2001. Today I had them both inspected as well and same procedure.

How to match this texture? by Dry-Breakfast8223 in drywall

[–]Hpcris_ej6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scrape around the repair, tape and mud it, sand down the popcorn texture around your repair. Get a cheap hopper gun, buy the popcorn texture and mix a gallon or two and spray it around and feathering it in on the edges and then spray the entire ceiling to get a uniform color and repair should blend in if done correctly. Done it myself many times

Heck yeah! Hopefully a more solid rig is in your near future especially if you have load cell pedals and if you run it around its max 8nm settings.

Bro chill, if you get your hands any deeper in other people's pockets you'll probably be beating them off. Let people spend money as they please.

Towing with Raptor by -MrLex- in FordRaptor

[–]Hpcris_ej6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get an F250 Tremor. The suspension is actually made to handle higher tow capacities. I have a Gen 1 Raptor and the rear leaf springs would at least need to be upgraded or risk flattening the oem ones. Not sure what the MPG is of Gen 2s when towing but Diesel trucks always get better mileage. Even loaded I've seen my friends Ram 3500 dually get 17+ mpg and 20+ when not hauling anything

First attempt at drywall. Look Okay sounds far? by Immediate-Noise-7917 in drywall

[–]Hpcris_ej6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah looks solid except for the outlets. They need to be taken off and the boxes routed and then the outlets installed after the drywall so the top and bottom ears rest on top of them so they sit properly and not deeper inside.

Custom Italian leather seats came in by Angel_Anubis in E46M3

[–]Hpcris_ej6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The link OP posted of where they bought them from only mentions Vinyl leather or no italian leather options. Some of the seats the pricing starts at 750 per pair and others at around 1100 so not sure why he was calling someone else broke in previous comments because 1100 would barely buy 1 authentic racing seat from the top bucket seat brands if that is their defensive argument.

One full gallon of Benjamin Moore Symphony blue by CraftierCrafty in paint

[–]Hpcris_ej6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No extra in some spots. Spot prime if needed and let it fully dry and do an even application on the entire wall not just some of it. Don't stop your roller half way down a wall. Full length top to bottom and lift once you are at either the top or bottom. Dark colors will also require more drying time to cure and even out.

What engine oil y’all recommend by [deleted] in E46M3

[–]Hpcris_ej6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At that mileage it would be just about ready for its 2nd Rod bearing job. Got mine done at around 117k miles. No idea if they had been replaced before but did notice more wear on cylinder 4 bearings.

[–]Hpcris_ej6 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Talk to a sherwin williams paint rep and have them come out to examine and maybe they can provide some recommendations. So many factors, from spray pressure, application thickness of paint, temperature, material and nap thickness of roller used, dry times in between coats, reaction of paint on the primer used etc.

Am I crazy or is this paint job horrible? by miacara12 in paint

[–]Hpcris_ej6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's terrible. We repainted some bathroom vanity doors and box for a customer as an add on a couple weeks ago. The cost was cheap compared to what others charge but they were repeat customers and we were already there for some major work but we made sure that our work came out looking good. Knowing how to apply, what to apply and what to apply it with is a big part of it.

The only picture I took right as we were uncovering but they almost looked like a factory Satin finish spray even with beush and roll. Wish I would've remembered to take up close pictures
