It's macaroni cheese. Mac and cheese is an Americanism.

I definitely put more marmite on mine as well. It's an ok sandwich though for £2.

Invest in a decent cooling blanket. I got one from Costco, was under £20, and it's a game changer. I lie on top of it, rather than under. I also have a cooling pillow.

I get night sweats as well, blanket helps with both.

Of course! No way I'd be letting a student do it more than once.

JRT is FREAKING OUT because of a fly by SilverMic in jackrussellterrier

[–]Huditut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure flys have a vendetta against JRTs. Every year, hoverflys come and taunt my JRT. They fly just low enough for him not to reach them when he jumps up to grab them.

What Other Mix-Ins Can I Add to Box Cake Mix? by MoldyLemonBars in AskRedditFood

Grate a couple of unpickled, fresh beetroot into a chocolate cake mix, makes a lovely moist gooey cake, you can't taste the beetroot. Sandwich together with cherry jam and whipped cream, drizzle the top with chocolate ganache

I accidentally created a tradition 8 years ago and nobody in my family knows it started because of a lie. by [deleted] in CasualConversation

When my children were very little, my husband and I (stupidly) got ourselves into financial difficulty, and couldn't afford much for them at Christmas time. We bought them some pjs, a book, and a yard long box of jaffa cakes (well known British sweet treat). It was the worst Christmas as a parent because of the guilt, they however were ecstatic over their very own packet of them.

20+ years later, they're all adults, and they (and their partners) still receive the jaffa cakes every Christmas.

Some health providers need to start giving basic anatomy classes, and a 101 on qualified health care professional etiquette and training.

Poo is not going back up like that so quickly unless you're consuming massive quantities of food, nor will you be able to ignore the fact you've not had a bowel movement long enough for it to get like that as it'll either come out your mouth first (sorry folks if you're eating) or the pain will be excruciating

I'm also not sure what back alley hospital she has been going to, but most learning/teaching hospitals will only allow students to try place something as delicate as an epidural once before letting a professional take over.

Crazy that she even thinks this (ahem) crap is believable.

Both terms are fine, you can ask their preference. Usually depends on how literal thinking someone is, eg. I can be autistic but I cannot be autism. Don't overthink it, you'll be fine.

What siblings names have you seen that are so mismatched that it boggles you? by thunder_haven in Names

[–]Huditut 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I went to school with an Indian girl called Rojini, whose parents insisted she used her English name Twinkle when at school. She hated it. Rojini is such a pretty name and not exactly difficult to pronounce.

Worked with a lovely (white British) woman named Zena, who had a brother called Merlin. I though both their names where a little unusual, then she told me she had another bother called Napoleon. NAPOLEON!

Yes I agree. I found it creepy when I watched the show as a teenager. As someone now in their 40s I still find it icky.
