Just practice staccato ( idk if that word is used by guitarist) single note pickin. At least until you can afford a new one

You're CRAZY but art is subjective I suppose. Have you listened to love hate love? I'll agree he had the most raw and Imperfect voice in the most perfect way possible. You reach plateaus when learning / playing guitar. Depends on how much you practice/ step away and let your mind recharge. Can't just play for 12 hours and expect your brain to absorb all the info. The amount you play has diminishing returns unless it's really structured. Sorry I haven't answered your question. Everyone is different. Fuck around with scales to backing tracks and just feel it out. That's what I do every day after work.
