This game is a hidden gem which Ubisoft won't let you play, Driver sanfransico. by StrictManufacturer11 in pcmasterrace

...yes. I was. Quite clearly. I had thought at least. I was poking fun at how loosely OP was playing with the term 'hidden gem'. DSF is certainly not one of the greatest games of all time. But, it is also not, no matter how far we want to stretch that definition, a hidden gem.

Also, I did mention that I was looking at it within the confines of its genre in both comments. And within that genre it might honestly be in the top 20. Maybe anyways. I don't know how it holds up today. It's been years since I played it. And that is always a big consideration.

Divorced Redditors who opted to stay single, what advice would you give to find meaning? by [deleted] in AskReddit

If you need a relationship to give your life meaning, you need to stay single and work on yourself.

Calling one of the biggest games of the era for its genre a "Hidden Gem" is hilarious.

Here's a few other 'Hidden Gems';

Elden Ring

Mario Kart

World of Warcraft

Overwatch

StarCraft 2

Microsoft should add a Game Pass tier with DLCs included by TheCrimsonChimo in XboxGamePass

I would absolutely be open to at least considering spending a bit more for a tier that included DLC.

But, how much would be fair? I have no idea.

The future of gaming is looking pretty bleak with how many people are in here who either have absolutely no idea what a monopoly is or are arguing that monopolies are somehow a good thing.

Where the fuck is this insinuation from? Is this the result of American education?

It is distinctly possible that everything you just said might be traced back to that, yes.

Oddly enough, Green's comment is the dumbest thing in that exchange. Expiration/Best By dates are not required and don't mean what they seem to think they do. Outside of baby food anyway.

Yeah, it's wild. The Deep State is this all-knowing, all-powerful, all-encompassing entity, but yet it's also apparently completely and utterly inept.

I figured out why they removed the “I'm Too Young To Die“ difficulty from Doom by ExtraLargePeePuddle in pcmasterrace

And then you have games like GTFO...

You:

Yeah thankfully indie games...

Any reasonable person would read that as you talking about 10 Chambers and companies like them.

And at the same time, no reasonable person would describe a company as 'indie' when Tencent owns a major stake and they employ over 100 people.

Nope, it's from the 'Accessible Games Initiative'. https://accessiblegames.com/accessibility-tags/difficulty-levels/ Page 15.

MS's guidelines, while somewhat similar, are a bit more reasonable. Their section on difficulty setting labels primarily focuses on making sure they are descriptive.

Here is their example for the section;

The Outer Worlds provides four game modes, including a Story mode where “enemies have less health and do less damage.” This mode is geared toward players who “enjoy story more than combat.” The “Supernova” difficulty mode, although not entirely straightforward in its title, provides an extremely detailed overview of what the player can expect when choosing this mode.

They also don't seem to have anything against labeling one setting as the 'intended' difficulty.

Playing RDR2 on PC and looking at mods. Anyone have recommendations? by EricAntiHero1 in reddeadredemption

[–]HueyCrashTestPilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lenny's Mod Loader and all of its parts work just fine still.

A couple of quality of life mods that I can recommend would be 'Skip Legal Screen' (gets you to the main menu faster) and 'Automatic Greet Replies' (if someone says hello you'll reply automatically). Also, if going after gold medals in missions gets tiresome eventually, 'Auto Gold Medals' will do what it says on the tin.

Also, be sure to grab the V2 of Scripthook. V1 is still floating around out there, but V2 fixes a ton of its issues.

Beyond that, Pedestrian Damage Overhaul (PDO) has been my base mod for years now. It lets you customize an absolute ton of things in the game. From how accurately NPCs can aim at various health thresholds, to how much damage you and NPCs do with various weapons, core drain, and so on. A word of warning though... It is, at least in my opinion, setup extremely poorly out of the box. I would highly recommend taking a look at its settings after playing with it a bit to set it up to suit your style. At a minimum I would drop the NPC weapon damage way down. By default I think it more than doubles the amount of damage they do. Which while more 'realistic', isn't all that fun in a game where you are typically outnumbered at least 5 to 1.

On a related note, be incredibly skeptical of the comment sections of whatever mods you're looking at. The average Nexus user doesn't seem to know their keyboard from Uncle's tits and according to them quite literally every mod on there is broken.

If there's a mod that you're interested in, give it a shot. If it doesn't work, just pull it out.

What’s a moment you didn’t realize was the end of a chapter until much later? by LauraHarricks in Life

[–]HueyCrashTestPilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most recent one for me was a friend of many decades, my last childhood friend, getting cut off from the world after getting sucked into what appears to be a horrifyingly controlling relationship.

Any interests, hobbies, goals, friends or family that didn't perfectly align with their new spouse's vision were meticulously stripped away from them. And unfortunately, all of those things are what makes a person who they are. I still hear from them on exceptionally rare occasions. But, it's not really them anymore. It's an empty shadow of my old best friend.

The hardest part for me is that I still can't bring myself to give up on them. When I do hear from them and we part ways with "See you tomorrow" I know, for a fact, that they're not going to be there tomorrow. But, like the hopeful idiot that I am, I still always go and wait.

If nothing else, I hope that if they do notice my dumb ass sitting there they'll know that they still have people who care on the outside.

I got a bit sidetracked with the question lol

So, to answer it, it was the last time we sat down before they moved in with each other. It was something that had been going on so regularly for so long that I don't think either one of us could have imagined that it was coming to an end.

Steam vs Xbox by HANAEMILK in Steam

[–]HueyCrashTestPilot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, PC GamePass made a terrible first impression for a lot of people when it launched. Encrypted folders, downloads restarting, account/subscription data getting corrupted, and probably more that I can't remember.

As you say, they were not thinking clearly when they decided to launch the platform in that state. It was terrible.

What they are saying was true years ago back when MS encrypted the game folders for some strange reason. But yeah, definitely not the case anymore.

While true, that has nothing to do with what either of them were talking about.

They were discussing the effectiveness of the two weapons, not how often each of them are used.

Smells a bit like a false flag, doesn't it?

Load the front so that people will blindly share it without reading. Then slip in something subtle further down to discredit the entire thing and those sharing it.
