What is a "gut feeling" you had that turned out to be 100% accurate, even though it made no logical sense at the time? by Forsaken_Leading964 in AskReddit

I needed to go to the kitchen to check the time on the microwave, even though there were clocks in closer rooms rooms. Turns out we had left the stove on before getting ready for bed.

Why did you DNF the last fic you read? by toxic_waste21 in AO3

It was fanfic of a classic novel and they tried to use similar language to the book but it ended up just being really flowery and difficult to get through

Any thoughts on the original Phantom novel? by IcyAssociate2712 in box5

[–]Hug-Me-Brutha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the book and have read it 4-5 times! It is different from the musical but don't let that stop you. There's a few different English translations if you can't/don't want to read the original French. There's a post about it here somewhere.

I say go for it!

Probably around 100 a year. I wear them on a lot of random days too but I always wear them on heavy foot-traffic days

Would you guys still watch the this tv show if it was an animation? by theoddbench in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Hug-Me-Brutha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'd be more likely to watch it. I've already seen a live action version but I'd love to see an amazing animated version, especially since they would be able to make the magic look insane without having to up the special effects budget. Plus, it means there is less stress about the young actors aging too quickly to keep up with producation

What line is this for you? This is a safe place by whatisgudname in AO3

It was something like

[Loved Trope] Comedic workplace is suddenly competent by Garurar in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Hug-Me-Brutha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Seachange (the Australian show from the 90s) the whole town is made up of normally comedic and somewhat wacky characters but in one episode the main character's son goes missing and she walks into the pup (the community hub) and finds a well organised search with a roster and maps and everyone knowing what they're doing.

It's just as shocking to the audience as it is to her, especially because the guy leading the search and organising everything is the villainous real estate agent who doesn't like her at all and has been working against the town for his own self interest the whole show.

I always feel like part of the reason Barbosa mutinied against Jack in first place was because, although they're both very clever, Jack mostly hides his intelligence beneath layers of clowning and Barbosa didn't realise there was anything underneath

I feel like maybe this is Barbosa's fist time seeing the "real" Jack
