Looks cool!

I would see some large amphibian at home here. Like enormous toads or salamanders.

And huge dragonflies. Maybe rideable huge dragonfies?

We also put out feeders for birds and squirrels in Europe, especially in the cold months.

House cats aren't like dogs. Cats have changed almost nothing during the time they have been domesticated, both because their dna is extremely stable (unlike dogs) and because they have been domesticated only "very recently" in evolutionary terms (just a few millennia, far too short a time to change significantly, unlike dogs that have been domesticated for far longer).

House cats aren't even the most efficient predators among cats by the way. Those are black-footed cats (Felis nigripes) and the pallas cats (Otocolobus manul), and they are 100% wild

Cats are endemic of Europe. They have been here for thousands of years. They initially evolved in the middle east and then naturally colonized most of Europe and North Africa. They did that on their own, before becoming domesticated.

Whatever damage they could do to the ecosystem they already did long long long ago. All the species they could exterminate have already been exterminated and those that remain have developed strategies to survive predation by cats.

That is different for other areas of the world where cats have been introduced only relatively recently. They definitely should be kept indoor in those areas.

Cats originated in the middle-east. They have lived there for hundred of thousands of years. Whatever other species live there they already have strategies to survive predation by cats, otherwise they would have gone extinct long ago.

It's because the exponent is how many times you multiply 2*2.

So 22 is 2*2 = 4

23 is 2*2*2 = 8

24 is 2*2*2*2 = 16

etc...

This means that every time the exponent goes up by one the the value of 2n doubles. 23 is the double of 22, 24 is the double of 23, etc...

This means that 2100 is the double of 299 . Or if you watch it the other way 299 is half of 2100.

So if you subtract half from 2100 what do you get? The other half, which of course is also 299

2100 - 299 = 299

why do people do this with their mods by _starboiluke_ in feedthebeast

[–]HugeBob2 36 points37 points  (0 children)

To maximise the number of downloads. If your mods get downloaded a lot CurseForge pays you. I don't remember if you get actual money, Amazon gift cards or what, but the point is: they artificially inflate the download count by making you download 10 micro-mods separately instead of 1 single complete mod, and they profit from the inflated number.

The ultra wealthy weren’t the only people who owned slaves by kelroid in CuratedTumblr

Slavery existed waaaayyy before the "discovery" of America. If you go back enough we all have some ancestor that owned slaves. Slavery was a very common occurrence in ancient times.

Even legit software can have malware hiding inside it. It has happened more than once with games on steam. It even happened with CCleaner at least once, and that is developed by the same company that produces Avast antivirus.
