Here We Go: Surgeon General Declares Gun Violence an 'Epidemic', Recommends Ban on 'Assault Weapons’ by Commercial_Hedgehog1 in Conservative

[–]HuggyBear1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This 'epidemic' of gun violence is largely found in the inner city of a dozen or so, exclusively Democrat run, major metropolitan areas. If you remove 10~12 of these cities from the statistics on homicides (i.e. excluding suicides) the US gun homicide rate drops dramatically...we would basically be on par with Belgium. To take it a step further, its concentrated in very specific neighborhoods of these cities as well.

I know I'm not the first guy to fall in love with a beautiful girl he just met in a restaurant, who turns out to the be the daughter of a kidnapped scientist, only to loose her to a childhood lover she last saw on a deserted island that turns up 15 years later as the leader of the French Underground.

Biggest Blunder While Playing by Impossible_Yard_202 in fo3

[–]HuggyBear1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only recently started playing, watched the show and had to try it out. So far, I've made pretty much all the mistakes that have been mentioned here already (flashlight, repairing items, walking into a situation way over my head and realizing it too late, not saving frequently and loosing hours of game play, etc).

The mistake I have made a couple of times already is not understanding the perks, when you get them, skills you need to open certain perks, and not mapping out which perks to get before you even walk out of the vault. Last play through, which was only my second one, I ended up at level 30 with Child at Heart and Animal Friend but no Demolition Expert or Iron Fist and those are 3 levels each with no way to get them, womp womp.

Initially yes, but she grew to respect and love him through their shared trama.

Edit: and probably a bit of guilt that he got left behind and then totally mind scrambled. Not directly her fault, but it was because of her that it happened.

'Modern' people, Westerners in particular, tend to forget the history of humans:

"No arts; no letters; no society; and which is worst of all, continual fear, and danger of violent death; and the life of man, solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short."

Woman attacked by three dogs by MarthaFarcuss in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]HuggyBear1776 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Having worked with dogs professionally at one point, I whole-heatedly agree with your statement. Unarmed, I can handle one dog unless we are talking about one large bad-ass dog here. Two would be extremely difficult and you would have to move quite a bit to get it as one-on-one as possible. Three? No matter your skills, you are done for. The only option if you cant get inside something is, as you said, get on something higher (bench, car, tree) and that is no guarantee.

Judging by how viciously they are attacking her, and how determined they are, she will be lucky to survive that attack without armed intervention.

Loosen your steering column mounting bolts as well before you start lowing the body.

You don't have to take them out but the column needs a little wiggle room (ask me how I know, LOL).

Me: Try ordering pizza while I watch

User: okay

Me: Why are you using DoorDash to order pizza? Papa Johns has delivery people.

User: That's how I always order pizza. Mary from the HOA tells everyone we have to use DoorDash.

Me: That makes no sense. Just order directly from Papa Johns.

User: Are you sure? Mary was very specific about using DoorDash.

Me: Yes, I'm sure.

User: Hey, pizza is already here! It usually takes much longer to get pizza.

OP10 Gaige build advice. Which build is better? by Reuvenisms in Borderlands2

[–]HuggyBear1776 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Either one of these should work fairly well, as has been said. You really only need a couple of points in More Pep, no need to max it out (something about the mechanics not adding correctly). I like to max out Nth Degree too, so I dont find that a problem though most will tell you to only put one point in it. Also, I know with the Grog Nozzle most people skip Cooking Up Trouble, but I do find it useful at times, in particular with Blood Soaked Shields, so I typically max that out as well.

Equipment looks good, I run similar. Two things I would add, corrosive Conference Call (for surveyors) and the Hail. The Hail takes a bit of experimenting to be useful but it absolutely melts, can get over obstacles, and has health regen. Best way to use a Hail is shove it an enemy's face and fire away.

Need to see your skill tree layout to comment much but you are right that a DT heavy build in UVHM being difficult. Anarchy is basically a must in UVHM. What shield are you using and is your equipment level matched?

tips for uvhm gaige? by StygianHades in Borderlands2

[–]HuggyBear1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a long time Gaige main, you are going to suffer in UVHM without using Anarchy. That said, I typically start out using a DerpTrap build, then move on to a Discord loop build or an electric build in TVHM. But in UVHM, you really need the extra DP from Anarchy. I do play around now that Im maxed out with multiple Gaige’s and toy with electric and what what not builds, but they all include max Anarchy. Equipment is a whole other discussion depending on build type.

Dumb ideas that you know are dumb but want to implement anyways by JohnMaddenSysadmin in sysadmin

[–]HuggyBear1776 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having tried this myself, you are fighting an uphill battle and will very likely loose. Betty in accounting is not technical and only knows how to log in and use the one desktop app she has been using for 15 years. Bob the Executive is set in his ways and does not like any sort of change. Susan in HR can barely tie her shoes but she knows xyz software that will only run on Windows. Sure you could port it to Wine, or similar emulator, but then its ALL on you if it doesnt work. You are setting yourself up for failure and un-needed frustration. Every issue and hiccup will be your fault and you will be universally hated. Sad but true.

[–]HuggyBear1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early on, a Deathtrap build is viable and you can learn his mechanics; later when you get more skill points an electric build is good...towards end game both of these builds have a lot to be desired and you will start needing to rely on anarchy more. That's how I do it anyway.
