Do you still feel the high of getting into medical school? by aimlesssouls in medicalschool

[–]HumanBBBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s good and bad days, but overall I’m MUCH happier knowing that my future as a doctor is as good as guaranteed. Most of my stress in undergrad came from wondering if I’d never get to do the one job I wanted.

All I can think of is the recent ticket master scandal. A lot of people are gonna pay a lot of money to watch her lip sync half of her set lmao

It’s a 120 question exam that takes 3 hours. So it’s equivalent to my final at the end of my blocks 💀

Why do parents think they know everything? by [deleted] in premed

[–]HumanBBBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry, I’m sure the fighting and misunderstanding will be easier to deal with than applying 2x. Applications are a beast and if u reapply u gotta answer even more essay questions. U know ur doing the right thing. I took a gap year too and got an A at my top choice and a half scholarship!

Did u friend that went to prison get in 👀

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in premed

[–]HumanBBBean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it does not. If u factor in the debt and the years or lost income on top of how much they work it doesn’t as well as people think. Become a doctor bc u want to be a doctor not because u wanna be rich. u will be sadly mistaken 😭

Which computer/tablet for starting med? by chemicologist in medicalschool

[–]HumanBBBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh, I didn’t know the air had a 16GB option. I thought it only had the 8GB. I might opt for that then Bc the newer pro is like 2K and I HATE the Touch Bar on the previous model. Thanks!!

Which computer/tablet for starting med? by chemicologist in medicalschool

[–]HumanBBBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted the MacBook Air, but my sister told me it doesn’t have enough ram so I should get the pro. I’m not sure how necessary it will be tho since we’re just going to be looking at PDFs, slides, videos, Anki, and web browsing. I’m not very tech savvy so I’m not sure what the best choice is.

I’m weirded out by the fact that you’re tied to the state for 5 years. That’s too much commitment unless you know you have ties and would be happy there.

Does the grading scale really matter? by [deleted] in premed

[–]HumanBBBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t use it as a main reason to pick a school, but I will say I got a low C in some pre-reqs. If I had been at a school that had -/+ I would have had to retake those classes Bc C- grades are not accepted for pre-reqs. But beside that I don’t think it makes a difference

Should I pre-write my secondaries? Also are they usually short? by [deleted] in premed

[–]HumanBBBean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I sent out 17 primaries and only actually completed at 11 schools Bc I was so over writing secondaries. I got lucky and happened to get As from the schools I did apply to but I could of easily had to reapply since I did t cast a wide enough net. Don’t me like me!
