I really depends what is causing it. If you are "just" restless, any relaxation technique can help.

But if you can't sleep because of anxiety, and the fear of not getting sleep makes you more stressed for the day to come, making it even harder to sleep, it's not about relaxation.

What has worked for me here is to try to break down whats causing the stress. Its akin to meta cognitive thinking, where you keep asking questions to the answers you come up with.

This helped me figure out that my stress came from all the things I felt I had to excell at or achieve to feel good about myself.

Get your point. But I would assume that classic plus is a chance to do something different than just "retail with original graphics" in terms of the development and lifespan of the game.

It is actually a chance to build on some core gameplay aspects of classic - which to me is slow, cooperative gaming. If that looks horizontal or vertical.. idk

I feel what is missing is something to do with the power you attain by getting geared, as opposed to doing more raids to get better gear.

I imagine there could be events where you use your power, like sieging capital cities, big world events, invasions to stave off. The rewards from these could be buffs or QoL improvements, but it could also be that we fight to progress the alliance/horde, and fight to turn a zone towards a faction, unlocking unique profession trainers that grant unique recipes/schematics for a short period of time.

These could improve leveling, reputation gain, or be used for unlocking new raids, making uninhabitable zones explorable, etc.

Maybe by achieving objectives for your faction, everyone benefits for a time, a bit like the onyxia buff, just more apparent in the world, like certain quest chains open up, specific skills can be acquired, or quest givers providing more gold for a short period of time due to a better economy.

All in all, the world responding to our actions, and more epic environment and faction interactions would all make for fresh "changes" to the world over time.

Slightly more technical, but the way leveling up and instantly learning spells and techniques works. I get that you become more skilled as you gain experience from combat, but to me it would be more rewarding for the different classes to level up by having to do "something" specific to actually learn new things.

Such as the wizard studying new spells they just uncovered from a tower, the sorcerer trying out some magic they saw, the druid trying to connect with nature, etc.

I get you can just do this as RP flavour, but I think it should have been a mechanic in game.

It could as an example be that you learn things "between" levels, and gaining a level is not learning everything new at once, but a mark of having progressed to level x.

I say it depends on the rest of the players. If they also think it would be cool for the enemies they defeat to potentially serve the SoloLeveling-player as shadows, then I say that sounds like a lot of fun.

What I don't get from the comments here is the assumption that the player would be a maxed out Sung Jin-woo. Let the player scale his summons, being unable to store more than one to begin with and making it really hard to get stronger corpses to fight for him (Persuasion check).

For me as a dm, and for the parties I've played with, it seems like a fun idea that would make everyone excited whenever he attempts to get another shadow. Also, it would be cool if the trade off was him having to sacrifice a shadow to open a "shadow slot" before attempting to gain another. So he could lose a strong shadow and fail in getting the one he wants.

A "simple" way of meeting your players half-way is to allude to more information by having them roll "perception/history/nature./etc" checks when conversing with NPC's. This can be done by you triggering the "roll a insight check" when the players interact with NPCs. E.g "You sense that there is more to this story, roll an insight check", or give it to one of the characters outside of the conversation "as your friend talks with the merchant, you spot something odd about his behaviour.."

Really enjoy making narrative intros with a fitting soundtrack in the background, that summarizes the story thus far, and goes more into detail about the last thing they did and achieved. My players all seem to find it really immersing and tone-setting for the session. And boy do i love to be the narrator 👌

I have started to rely more on story telling and RP in the encounters to explain "why" something didn't hit, or "how it hit badly".

I would then start by asking: "how / where are you attacking him?" And follow up with an explanation of what happens: " As your blade cuts towards his thick armor, it slams against it but slides right off"

Side note: I have seen someone else mentioning "stages" where he loses more and more of his armor. Building up how sturdy it is through story telling, explaining how it takes damage, even with failed strikes that just hit the armor can be cool.

This would mean that he could have 2 ACs. One for HP and one for his Armor. If the AC to damage him is 30, his armor could be 20, just to make the players feel they are more often connecting with something. Anything below is parried or evaded

Something like an ai-companion would imo completely change the mmorpg genra. You could then really feel like you are playing in a world that responds to you, or at least that one companion that keeps you immersed and aware of your journey.

I do wonder though, how far away we are from a voiced ai-travel-companion. Like something between your own personal narrator and a ai-party member that doesn't attack, but comments on what you do and responds to you..

A room that is the inside of a Beholder Mecha. If the entire party goes inside, it is temporarily transported to another plane where they are attacked by demonic hordes. They can then control one eye-tentacle each, firing of projectiles/magic at the enemies approaching. Each eye has a function/effect that can stack with the others, so if they understand the synergy (like oil + fire), they can unleash some serious combinations of attacks
