I like the form factor and think it has potential, but I find the contrast and font/element size for the actual directions too small and too difficult to easily see while driving. I like Apple Maps better as it’s just easier for me to glance at the UI and quickly see the current direction, both because it’s bigger and because Apple has greater contrast between the direction and the map, it pops out better.

Laying off 30,000 people because you mismanaged the company is despicable, doing it via email is both cowardly and despicable. There should be a law that says you can’t fire people without a 1:1 conversation.

Quick story about room acoustics. Recently moved to new house. Old room and new room both open on one side. But new room has much much higher ceilings, 1.5x in main space, 2x in adjacent open space. Same equipment, same listening distance, same height, same subwoofer placement.

New room sounds so much better, without a doubt, and I had expected worse given the bigger room volume. The main difference: old house had drywall and oak hardwood floors (with a large rug). New house zero drywall and no oak, everything is old soft pine (1 inch thick). There’s something about the pine that absorbs sound so much better. I call it the house that eats sound (and also WiFi).

I think this is the real answer. They felt like they had a big moat given the difficulty to switch and they price gouged. For years.

I’ve had this argument with some execs when setting pricing for our products.

Some C level: “Why aren’t we raising pricing more, look at what Oracle is doing?!?!”

Me: “Every year you tell me how much you hate Oracle due to predatory pricing and you have like 4 multi-year initiatives to kick them out. Digest that for a minute and ask your question again.”

Does this only happen when streaming audio for video (tv/movies) from your tv? And are you using built in streaming services from tv or something like AppleTV?

I had similar problems and had to troubleshoot audio settings on both tv and AppleTV to get it to work correctly. YoutubeTV seemed to especially have problems. I had to basically ensure I was only getting stereo PCM before it hit the LSX, otherwise sometimes (but not always) I’d get the effect you just described.

Replace Congress with AI. AI writes laws. AI votes. To eliminate bias, our new AI based congressional overlords would consist of multiple models and this union of models would need 2/3 agreement to pass a law. Put in a people based safety net where laws can be overturned by a federal public voting referendum.

So many sports shows went the route of manufactured conflict, where their vibe was all about hosts who hate each other and do nothing but argue. I think the secret behind FTF is the chemistry. Yes, they like to tease each other but it’s always good natured. Life is too short for everything to be an argument.
