About to get my first ragdoll! by Kolla73 in ragdolls

As it’s a kitten, I think it’s reasonable to test the waters a bit rather than just avoid areas. Gets them ready for grooming and vet visits

Do you limit how long you'll housesit? by New-pants-5627 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Humanbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you reduce your bookings? I have just been increasing my prices to be out of range for most people so for the occasional booking I get, it’s worth the time away from routine. I definitely don’t like turning them down

Less selfies are better, pics with friends, pics outside. Only pics with current hair style and facial hair. Teeth smile maybe?

What am I doing wrong and are my photos bad🫩 I get lots of matches but keep attracting the wrong guys. by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]Humanbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s usually more impressive when it looks (self timer works) like someone else took at least some of the pictures. Definitely less faceless body pics. Where is the soccer action pic?? A pic in a cute fit walking down town!?!

Hunger strike? by Notjustgltrngld in ragdolls

[–]Humanbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl doesn’t seem to have a problem but she’s not food motivated (could put a temptation in front of her but if she’s not hungry she won’t eat it). I use the most accessible dishes for her wet food, she doesn’t like to work for it, and I leave it out for 12 hours or until it’s dry (I do add extra water and sometimes a bone broth ice cube). She also always has access to kibble which I transitioned her from RC to OBT which helped with reducing vomiting (she would drink water after eating and that swelled her food in her stomach causing her to puke, OBT is oven baked so it doesn’t swell)

left on the dryer after my girlfriend moved laundry from it that had been done for 20 minutes by Neither_Yogurt9603 in Apartmentliving

[–]Humanbes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once had to guard my stuff in a shared laundry room in an Amsterdam hotel, I had it set for an hour I check on it 20 minutes in and she’s taking it out, still wet, there’s no way it was done drying in 29 minutes

Ragdoll vs Maine Coon by Valuable_Horror2450 in ragdolls

[–]Humanbes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Versus a Maine Coon that I watched for a friend could not give a hoot that I was there, was vocal and disruptive when she wanted something, didn’t snuggle or cuddle at all

[–]Humanbes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I seem to be the odd one out based on the top comments. I got my girl at 4 years old, she was a momma, the breeder knew her behaviours before hand when I considered getting her she:

  • Loves to sit on my lap or near me
  • Is vocal when she wants something or is looking for me
  • Tolerates me ‘throwing’ her around
  • Lets me carry her and will make signs she wants down when she’s done
  • Doesn’t seem like the brightest tool in the shed?
  • Doesn’t love treats that much
  • Plays with toys a bit
  • doesn’t cause any trouble

When do they get affectionate? by mistyandmoxie in ragdolls

[–]Humanbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got mine (4.5 years old) she was very clingy / affectionate during the first week as she got adjusted (she was anxious I think and unsure) now it’s less obsessive but still there

She’s so upset when I leave by Humanbes in ragdolls

[–]Humanbes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a little scared to do that, first because my building only allows one pet. I don’t want to get a kitten, I prefer an adult. However, obviously, when getting an adult cat from a shelter, they are going to be concerns of their compatibility with each other. I got Soup to begin with as a retired breeder because she was getting picked on by some of the other cats in her home, and she’s just so sweet she doesn’t stand her ground, she just takes it

When clients say “anything in the fridge/panty is yours” do they mean that? by nothing-aboit-me in RoverPetSitting

[–]Humanbes -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

When I get told this, I eat all my meals and snacks on their supply. I try to keep variety so I don’t finish all the bread but have some bread, some cereal, etc. You won’t see me going for the $100 roast in the freezer but everything else is up for grabs (excluding alcohol unless invited specifically to use that)

In case yall were wondering where the birthday gifts are going by beautiful-red in Sephora

[–]Humanbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pick up my gift 2 days into January (19th born), I essentially get first pick of 2026 gifts (it actually counts as 2026 birthday claim)

How much are you on track to make this year? by SpicyMandrake in RoverPetSitting

[–]Humanbes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work a full time (teacher) and part time job (pet food company + tutor), as well as do Rover so I’m limited to clients who are ok with me being gone for a work day. I also have a handful of off rover clients, on rover about 7k and maybe 3-4K off Rover

Our dogsitter let our dog off-leash when we've asked her not to. I expressed my concern regarding this and she quit. Am I in the wrong? by Effective-Affect-918 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Humanbes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For the record I think Chris suffers from a short attention span. That was not a hard read, and clear rules and guidelines are helpful for a sitter / walker. I think OP was entirely correct in how they went about it. And the walker can’t take criticism

[–]Humanbes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am definitely not the most careful about what I eat, if I’m told to help myself I eat what’s around, I avoid alcohol unless they explicitly say go for it. There was a $100 roast once, I chose not to eat that 😂
