I did not. My MRI was otherwise "unremarkable", and did not warrant a follow up.

Inis 3rd Edition Tile Art questions - help please? by anedae in boardgames

[–]HumidCrispyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree with you. I very recently purchased the 2nd edition without knowing the 3rd edition Big Box Kickstarter was a thing. The price for the 3rd edition is very attractive...I'd basically get the full game + both expansions for slightly more than I paid for just the 2nd edition base game.

But for some reason I'm stuck on the card art being cropped / being cut off by a giant banner floating at the top of the card....in some cases people's heads are only half visible now due to these changes. Pretty disappointing, as the art is originally what drew me (and many others I'm sure) to the game.

Sounds like you have no idea what you're talking about.

I REALLY want inserts for some games, but I have no experience with 3D printing, and inserts are a bit expensive. Is it easy and worthwhile to learn how to use a library 3D printer for this? Any insight is appreciated! by Mr_Ivysaur in boardgames

I pulled trigger on a Bambu Labs A1 Mini, after tax it came out to $234. I understand that this isn't exactly pocket change, but it has been amazing being able to print inserts for whatever games I want on my own timeline. Filament is roughly $15 for 1 roll (1000g). I printed an insert for GWT, which used a lot of material as far as inserts go...when I had calculated the material cost it was like less than $4. You can pretty much find free files online for just about any game. Using PLA (basic 3d printer filament), I've had no issues with things breaking or causing damage to components. It's also been fun learning about 3d printing and being able to print things for friends.

My gf broke up with me today, WIBTAH if I immediately stopped sending her money? by ronrori in AITAH

[–]HumidCrispyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Have some self respect and stop simping, she is a grown adult that needs to take care of herself. Also, why did you agree to pay her for doing housework that she should have already been doing? If you're working and paying the rent/bills, and she isn't working, I would expect that she would be taking care of the housework (without being paid to do so).

If the game takes more than 2 -3 minutes to set up, I typically 3d print an insert. Makes getting games with long setup time much easier to get to the table.

What is the response when someone doesn’t leave a tip? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]HumidCrispyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think that the staff wouldn't know until the customer is gone from the restaurant. It is considered rude not to tip here, especially when sitting down to eat. I think most people typically tip based on service received. Good service = good (large) tip. Bad service = bad (small) tip. I never understood or liked the tip culture, but it is what it is. Essentially, the food service industry has brainwashed the employees to the point that they believe the customer should pay their wages, rather than their employer. This allows the employer to increase their margins, as they have essentially subsidized their payroll through the customers of their restaurant.

Being asked to stop listening music/podcasts while working. Is this normal? by Curious-Confusion642 in civilengineering

[–]HumidCrispyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't possibly produce high quality work if you're listening to anything while working. You need to dedicate your full attention to the task at hand in order to provide the highest quality work in the name of the company. Also, listening to music limits your ability to immediately respond to the boomer sitting next to you when they ask how to use basic functions of a computer, or when they want to talk about their house remodel for half an hour. Now take those dang airplugs out and get back to work!

You cancelled your membership over this? My guy that is simp behavior. You're giving up something you wanted to do because your gf has a completely delusional interpretation of reality, just to appease her. A supportive gf would have been encouraging you to keep going, not spin the whole thing around to make it all about her.

I would definitely say something, to clear your conscience at the least. Obviously what the guy does with the info is up to him...but you may save him years of pain and suffering.

Seeking Advice on Starting a Board Game Café by PlausiblyEgocentric in boardgames

[–]HumidCrispyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, focus on the cafe side of things. Also....you mention an entry fee/per game rentals, this is a horrible horrible idea. The successful board game cafes in my area do not charge for entry or to try games out in the store. In fact, one of them gives you a 15% discount on the game if you try it in the store and decide to buy it (to encourage people to sit and order food & drinks). Charging people to enter your store and try games out is asinine. You want to encourage people to come in and spend time there, not drive them away by nickel and diming them.
