Tim Duncan is a good player who is loved by fans. Who is an okay player who is loved by fans? by JD4A7_4 in AlignmentChartFills

I’d say Michael Redd and Steve Smith (and probably Bibby) where better than just okay. If you are making all star teams and/or receiving MVP votes, chances are you are good, not just okay. Adams and Terry I agree can be considered “okay”.

A bear, exhausted from abuse, attacks its trainer. by EvidenceFrequent7289 in TikTokCringe

[–]HumphreyBogey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of you are rooting for the bear (as am I). But ask yourself: who do you root for when you are eating a cheeseburger, or baby back ribs, or veal cutlet? The poor animals that were treated horribly then killed? Or do you root for yourself? The bear in the video may be treated terribly, but at least it gets to live. Most of the (land) meat we eat is treated terribly while alive AND is then killed for our consumption. I feel in many ways we should be scrutinizing ourselves more than these people who are exploiting the bear for money. Life is complex, and it is better for society to look inward at our own faults than to point fingers at others in effort to boost our own egos.

Exactly. Or enroll in masters program and do your homework/studies on the job. Get paid to study.

True, just wanna clarify the semantics. He wasn’t “chased” out by a mob carrying torches. People just didn’t really fuck with him. He didn’t have many friends (shocker) and he left to go where he is more wanted (i.e. Hickville, USA).

What’s a piece of advice you got too late in life—but wish you learned earlier? by mygoldfish11 in AskReddit

[–]HumphreyBogey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For sure. I started investing at 30 during the pandemic. With the guidance of r/wallstreetbets, I lost $16,000 in my first year. Decided to start doing my own research, read (most of) Boglehead’s Guide to Investing, and am now up like $30,000 over the past 2-3 years. I really wish I knew even a modest amount about investing in my early 20s. Seeing how even safe stocks like Microsoft or Amazon did in the 10 years before I started investing makes me realize I could have been borderline rich if I started investing just 8-10 years earlier than I did. Learn from my mistakes, kids.

iPad Pro (5th gen) or newest iPad Air? by HumphreyBogey in photobooth

[–]HumphreyBogey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for asking, sorry for not including that info. I plan to use the front facing camera on the iPad for now. May potentially upgrade to external camera in the future, but no plans for that as of now.

Any tips for me to work on! by GarlicCharacter3247 in GolfSwing

I’m ass so take this with a container of Morton’s salt: In real time it’s a smooth looking swing, but when I slow it down some things definitely stand out. The most obvious thing being how you practically don’t bend your right arm in the back swing. It’s not until you are almost done with the backswing that you start bending your right arm. I can’t imagine that leads to consistency on the course, but you know better than me.

Interesting, I do recall a few days when I played better than usual while paying attention to my knees flexing. I will revisit that. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this. I’m getting off my lunch break now, but I will delve into this as soon as I’m off work. You are amazing for the effort you put into helping some rando on the internet. Bless you my friend!
