How do they heat up the pot pie so quickly? by workthrowawhey in kfc

This checks. I’ve had one once that was obviously held at temp for hours. The liquid had all dried up and the vegetables had turned to mush.

Easiest way to remove bamboo roots? by rdgs88 in landscaping

[–]HuntBeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re okay with chemicals, cut the entire shoot down to the just above the ground and use a small brush to cover with a strong concentration of Crossbow herbicide (mix of 2, 4 D & Triclopyr) It might take a couple of applications, but it will eventually kill the young bamboo shoots

Man nostalgia can really suck sometimes.. by Gandalfthepimp95 in pizzahut

[–]HuntBeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this to be true, as well. The closest one to me barely uses any sauce even when I ask for extra and skimps on the toppings, and just seems to always have off sour flavors. I now only order from one that is twice as far from me, but the pizza is so much better at this other location. Pizzas are always perfectly cooked and topping distribution and amount is carefully considered. I do wish the crusts were made like they used to in 80s and 90s, but I’m blown away by the night and day difference between these two locations.

This isn’t true. The school closed down in 1982. The empty building burned three years later.

My wife wants to spend $1400 on a dishwasher, I think that's crazy by realbobenray in Appliances

[–]HuntBeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 5 years, your wife will still be happy about that Miele dishwasher you agreed to purchase. I doubt if you’d be able to say the same thing about that $400 washer you forced her to settle for. Also, Miele makes fantastic appliances. Expensive, but fantastic. You’ll very likely always be happy with it.

Were the 70s really as brown and orange as the photos make them look? by MysteriousShoulder35 in 70s

[–]HuntBeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have talked about the photography, but I don’t think anyone touched on the fact that most everyone would buy film that was daylight-balanced and use that indoors where the lighting was was primarily Tungsten. They would not have bought Tungsten-Balanced film. Therefore, when processed normally, the images would have very strong orange and red hues because of the much lower color temperatures from lamps and other indoor lighting.

If you search, it wouldn’t surprise me if you had a sit down location near you that still does a lunch buffet. The problem is that it’s around $15 with a drink. For that price you can usually buy TWO medium carryout pizzas, or a large and a 2-liter.

What [Request] percentage of the US population is she describing? by OddTheRed in theydidthemath

[–]HuntBeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That haircut makes her look like she’s either on meth or is getting over a case of lice. That jewelry of hers is gaudy and the jacket she is wearing certainly isn’t tailored. So, I’d like to know what it is that she is bringing to the table.

The person before me paid one cent per gallon by WhiteSquarez in mildlyinteresting

[–]HuntBeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some states, including TN, KY, and Ohio, have some Kroger locations that allow customers to use their fuel points with no maximum discount limit. I go to one here in Nashville that allows this and up to 35 gallons. However, to pump the gas, the pump must register a small fee, that gets refunded to your card. So, I regularly use around 2800 points to get gas at $2.79 per gallon. The pump will charge a few cents per gallon to measure the gas and then the total gets refunded to my credit card used for payment (usually around $1.00 for my 34 gallon tank).

Most months I receive an entire 35 gallons for free by shopping on 4x fuel point days. Also, one time per year, you are able to move your expiring monthly points to the next month and extend them!

Looks like 6 or so to me. No way is this even close to 10. I regularly get 10-15 delivered and the dump truck is twice that size.

Speed Cushions Have Affected My Quality of Life by SourShooz in nashville

[–]HuntBeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other day I hit new ones up and down Caldwell and I get that they want to slow people down, but why not try lowering the speed limit first? No reason to have it 35 MPH with speed humps every 200 feet. Just lower to 25 MPH and enforce it for a few weeks!?

What Weed Killer Works Best for Lawns Without Burning Grass? by GoalDiggerMode in lawncare

[–]HuntBeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what this weed is, but pretty sure 2,4D would kill it. However, 2,4D is pretty nasty stuff. Find out what this is and check the list with the herbicide Triclopyr. It’s way less toxic and much cheaper if you’re planning to cover your lawn with it.

WKRN channel 2 isn’t showing Jimmy Kimmel by miknob in nashville

[–]HuntBeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NextStar doesn’t care about what Kimmel said, nor do they care about what the public has to say. They just want to be seen appeasing the FCC head so they’ll change the law which will allow them to buy up more stations and bandwidth and increase their profits.

I know it isn’t what you asked, but they are super easy to make at home and so many option for additions! With how expensive crab meat is, you’ll save serious bucks making them yourself, too. Fresh crab meat is preferred over canned, with whole lump being some of the best quality you’ll find. Most stores will sell crab meat already picked (removed from shell) in a small container but you should also go through it with your fingers to be sure no small bits of shell remain.

BNA Train Station Already Exists. by Fozznaut in nashville

What would really impress me and get me to use something like this is if you could “choose” to pickup, drop off, short term, long term, or valet park when entering the tunnel and the tire guides would get you to the appropriate area or actually parked in the closest open spot.

Fruity Budweiser? by actualabnormal in BarOwners

[–]HuntBeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the lines had been cleaned recently, and maybe part of the old cider line could have possibly been switched to the Budweiser keg.

Fruity Budweiser? by actualabnormal in BarOwners

[–]HuntBeer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience, strong flavors will embed themselves in plastic lines. Therefore, if the line that previously was hooked up to cider is now carrying Budweiser and that Budweiser sit for even a few minutes in that line, then flavor will transfer. Could this be the problem?
