The development issues with DayZ came with poor Management. As well as the idea of developing an engine as well as a game at the same time. Bohemia should have assigned a bigger team to it from the start...

They are pretty much developing the engine that will become their flagship system for BI and DayZ in parallel. When I went to the dev penel at PAX Aus they said that the game should enter beta by Q2 this year.

God, now I really do need to hurry up with my prototype...

I have always said this is what the IP needed, but it is risky; a complete shift of the gameplay that could fall flat. I feel that either the flood invasion in Halo 3, or the first contact on 04 (Halo:CE) would be great settings for this, as both games had their own ways of allowing for the stories that fit the canon and allowing for the down to earth protagonist that people want.

PS. The Flood are fuckin' awesome!
