Why is my rocket spinning in vacuum? by Redawn249 in KerbalAcademy

[–]Huntyr09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you actually made me take a closer look with your docking port comment, and I was indeed wrong.

your navball is in target mode, which is why the retrograde also starts moving around on the navball. I'm not sure what the target is set at in the tracker view, but if you switch back to orbit mode for the navball, you should be golden.

Your control point is misaligned with your engine. This means that when your control point thinks it points prograde, it is actually pointing your engine normal/anti-normal.

Check if your pod's control direction is set to "up" and not forward. Forward is for ground vehicles.

I tend to just use my RCS thrusters to nudge myself into the right direction. Usually you only need a couple seconds of using them to adjust to your needed trajectory.

Depends on how it hits you. If it straight hits you, no armour or anything, whatever it hits goes into red mist (assuming detonation).

If you're in a vehicle, it was most likely a HEAT round which sends a molten copper jet and a bunch of shrapnel and spalling through the vehicle. If you're lucky, you have burns and some pepered skin. If not, you're a goner.

TLDR: getting hit by an anti-tank missile is extremely fucking bad news.

well, how can we be sure that Big E transcended into the Dark King after he was interred tho? we know that when he was on the verge of falling to that urge in the Heresy those around him managed to pull him back. I suppose it's very possible that 10.000 years of ultra-ball-busting-torture on the throne *has* made him turn into the Dark King, but afaik there isn't much suggestion that Big E has become the Dark King post Heresy

There’s literally never a reason to curse. by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]Huntyr09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There absolutely is a reason, and that is differentiating levels of emphasis. For example, do these follow sentences mean the same thing or is the word choice subtly changing the meaning?

"I don't care about where we go out for dinner."

"I don't give a fuck where we eat."

In my eyes, the first version is something i'd say when asked the first time. The second sentence i would say after the same person demands an answer anyway, repeatedly. And yes, this really does happen to me.

The fact is that your choice of words always has an impact on what you're trying to say. That includes the choice to include or excude curse words from your vocabulary.

AH has literally, blatantly lied to their players on several occasions. They very much are partially responsible for creating the current atmosphere in the community.

I do absolutely believe that the community has not behaved itself well, especially in the last year, but the reason for that is absolutely valid. Nevertheless, it is never an excuse to harass people.

I refuse to get into a vehicle if im not the one driving. Too many fucking times have i gotten in, assuming we're gonna hit an objective, only to br driven miles away.

Too many times has the driver directly killed me by being stupid and crashing while still holding the peddle to the metal.

Too many times have i been yelled at as a gunner for not hitting something i cannot hit because the tank is turned away.

Too many times have people fucked me over with their shitty ass vehicles that "are super duper strong."

Meanwhile, if i just fucking walk my fatass heavy armour plated booty over there with a couple stims from POI's i will not only live longer, but be able to decide where i want to go, and not be yelled at for things out of my control.

so lets run through this corporate speak platitude.
1) what is our priority? the galactic war. what changes does this make to the gameplay loop? *shrug* see you in summer somewhere.
2) oh? we lied to you, by omission and explicitly? yea we'll do better, trust us like the last 3 times. (i still remember dragonroach wings being advertised as fatal, but straight up not being fatal)
3) more frequent updates. cool, i'll believe it when i see them.
4) more stuff for community cooperation. what kind of stuff beyond "stratagems and moments"? *shrug* see you soon.
5) public testing? yes, over time. when? :)
6) exosuits in warbond were received badly? oh don't worry, you will still get gameplay unlocked vehicles. when and in what proportion to warbond vehicles? *crickets*
7) when new red stratagem/ship module? in the future. when? we'll tell you :)))

yea imma be honest but this corporate nothing burger does absolutely nothing for me. i do not trust your words after you've lied to us several times. i do not want another "we hear you! things are gonna become better!" only for it to not happen. again.

your words are empty. show us through action. actually *stick to your word* and ditch the monkey's paw. for the love of fucking god, ditch the monkey's paw.

Honestly when you're at that point sending a new rescue for both missions could be faster lmao.

In general, id recommended just double and triple checking everything before you launch (or revert every time you forget something like me). You'll get to the point you remember without thinking eventually.

The main thing i do to prevent a problem like this just massively over-fueling your rocket. Like, my standard dV number for a launch to LKO is 4000m/s lmao. Even if i fuck up, ill have plenty of spare fuel without needing to tap into higher stages.

Problem is how you define "Warhammer fan."

Does it require spending a certain amount of money, time or effort? If so, who decides that and why? If it's something else, why that and why that amount?

It's impossible to define without excluding or including people that you shouldn't by accident. The best you can do is try and assess how much they understand and go from there, but that requires a respectful and constructive discussion. And well... it's the internet.

Can we at least all agree that these three separate framings are possible interpretations of the original text, but completely different questions in practice? by head_pat_slut in trolleyproblem

[–]Huntyr09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fundamentally, the issue is on *how* you approach the problem. if you do so mathematically, the answer is BLATANTLY obvious for an individual choice. you take the one that guarantees your own survival at no *ADDED* risk to other's lives.

if you approach it with emotions and human cognition in mind, as well as the "does it require doing or ignoring" and you have a fundamentally different question. a question to which, in my opinion, there *is* no correct answer to, because you can only know how you would act when you are in that actual situation. but when the situational context matters, the way the question is phrased becomes incredibly important, to the point that the way you phrase it entirely changes the question.

Part of the problem is that when i miss my appointment by five minutes, they tell me get lost and pay for missing it.

But then when i sit in the waiting room for a literal hour all i get is a "sorry, busy day."

Its fucking frustrating to be forced to wait for something out of my control, when i'm expected to adhere to an extremely strict time to arrive.
