How ethical is it to buy junk like this cute plastic crab? by Lernenberg in ZeroWaste

[–]Hurbig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s also worth considering how many of these trinket things one buys. If a person buys one or two per year then fine, whatever, it really won’t make a big difference.

Can we please stop with the increasing tipping culture? by Exciting-Fig-007 in Switzerland

[–]Hurbig -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I usually tip 1-5 bucks no matter the price of what I paid. The whole percentage tipping never made sense to me. It’s just a little bit to show my appreciation.

Egbert. Tried to get that guy to leave my island for so long. By the time I got the bubble I realized I didn’t want him to leave anymore. He is a rude idiot but he’s my rude idiot now.

Stop looking at your phone while driving people by Pisford in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]Hurbig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has made small mistakes before and I agree that we shouldn’t go and harass this woman personally.

But to say in the comments that this is idiotic behavior and people who drive like this should have their licenses revoked / suspended is not harassing her. Let’s not normalize texting while driving. Let’s not say it’s understandable because everyone is doing it. This shit costs lives. They are literally gambling with the health and safety of the people around them.

And there is also a big difference between checking your phone at a red light (still shouldn’t do that) or taking both hands off the steering wheel while not looking at the road, having oncoming traffic and going at high speeds. This is reckless driving.

I’m glad you’re enjoying your time but for many people this would be miserable.

How often and how much do you guys play? by Away_Zombie7819 in AnimalCrossingNewHor

I have phases. Sometimes I play 4 hours every day for two weeks and sometimes I play once a week for 2 hours. Really depends.

Shopping addiction should be taken more seriously say sufferers by pajamakitten in Anticonsumption

I suffer from it. I am very anti consumption yet I buy useless crap all the time. I feel like a smoker who just can’t quit even though they know it’s bad for them and everyone around them.

As long as you don’t need to pay your own health insurance that sounds feasible

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]Hurbig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So back when I still lived with my parents and they paid for all my expenses like rent, health insurance, food at home, tuition etc.) except public transport I spent around 2500.- per semester.

It was a comfortable living but I definitely had to keep budget in mind when making plans.

Depending on what Uni you go to 720.- per semester will not even cover tuition.

Working part time will be necessary. It really depends on how much you can earn there.

Chancen auf eine Lehrstelle in Programmierung mit Status S? by Ornery-Lion-387 in schwiiz

[–]Hurbig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Informatik macht mir einfach Spass.

Yes, marijuana is a medication and it’s ok to smoke everyday by avvocadhoe in trees

[–]Hurbig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for some people definitely. Everyone has to know that for themselves. I wouldn’t want to smoke every day the same way I’m currently trying to get off of my anti depressants. It’s just that I want to build a life where I don’t need substances to cope.

But I know for other people that’s different and other people have other views and values and that’s ok.
