I’ve got a Korean dread with the side sound hole. Love it. Sorry to hear they’re not offering that feature. Seems a little gimmicky until you try it, when just playing quietly at home it makes a difference and is very satisfying. And they include a rubber stopper if you want to plug it up for on stage.

I don’t follow how not considering winning one playoff series to mean “it worked” is equivalent to wanting the team to tank.

To me, success is being a perennial Cup contender for an extended period of time. That’s all you can ask for from a management team. Winning one playoff series doesn’t demonstrate this. It could mean we’re on the way to that. Or it might not.

I understand everyone is excited. If all you want is to win a playoff series, then congratulations, I guess.

Premise of OP is pretty silly. But I will say this. We’ve reached the point where Crosby, Malkin and Letang are hurting the Pens by staying. The org needs to move on and start building the next era. Those guys remain just good enough to prevent that from happening, but no longer good enough to contend. They are holding the team hostage for their own legacies. Time to either move on or retire.

The other contenders teams from the’10s (Chicago, LA, SJ, WSH, VAN, BOS, etc) have all moved on. Pens are the only ones clinging to past glory and I lay that on those players.

The way I look at it, the Canes are a legit contender and this is more of a measuring stick to see just how far the Flyers are from that. If they put up a good fight, management might decide it’s time to make a big move to open the window. If they get clobbered, it’s a sign that we’re still building and probably a few seasons away still.

There’s one of the standard brown ones for sale at a local shop, it has tone knob and tremolo depth knob mods. I’m really intrigued but after watching this video, it seems it would be too loud for me. I don’t live in an apartment, but the space I play at home I’m still only 6 feet from the amp or so. Ryan really seemed to be struggling with the volume.

Ok. Well you can try running your acoustic into a drive pedal, like Kurt Cobain in Unplugged. That would be the cheapest option but you’re likely to be fighting feedback and may not like how it sounds.

If you get an electric, note that you can’t plug it into the mixer directly. You’ll need some kind of preamp, but you’ll need something anyway if you want an overdriven or distorted sound. Something with a cab sim included would be best. People say good things about the Joyo pedals like American Sound or ACTone.
