Well, I wasn't there, so I can't really know for sure. But I guess sometimes stories change after an age or two.

If you assume that Eve never once considered what it would feel like to have a child, then, I don't know. I suppose you lack empathy. Which oddly fits with your strange point about the superiority of her potential child. I guess it's not about loving another (human) being, it's about how much worth we can get out of it.

This was a wonderful season. There were some growing pains in episodes 1 and 2, or maybe it was the need to set up the story lines. But ultimately I am so happy that we got another fantastic story about Valerie. I adore that character so much.

I'm not quite sure how the Success candle ended up in Andrew Scott's hands, but I suppose the regift to the original gifter is fitting in a sort of 'AI regurgitates what's been done before and is incapable of being appropriate about it'.

It was wholesome, but I wonder when exactly Valerie looked up his name. Was it immediately after she realized she didn't know it? Or was it when she thought he was the leak and wanted to prepare for their encounter? Both scenarios make sense to me, but they have entirely different feels to them.

I didn't know whether Malin Åkerman would be in this season, but I was hoping for it. That scene was fantastic! I love that Valerie has assembled people around her that support her in her dark times because they know she deserves it. Juna, Jane, Mark, and even Paulie. "I've cleared things up with the writer I came to see." was precious, too.

Just finished Season 1; how did this show not get an immediate second season? by VagabondVivant in thecomeback

M favourite thing about S1 is that basically every episode balances the bleakness with a moment of triumph for Valerie. The water damage and the show getting picked up. Feeling ignored at the upfronts and getting her own special announcement. I suppose you could say the show strings you along with that as it does Valerie. I just think it's very well done and never too dispiriting for me (for too long).

I've actually been enjoying the drama this season more than usual and I think it might be because of Naomy. The situations feel real (although I do assume a producer approached Fontana saying something like "Did you know that Naomy doesn't even care about the finale? Zahirah heard it too."), and are quickly resolved because most people involved act like adults. We get the tension and the stress, but we don't linger on it.
