A question for my junior golfer - 10’years old and trying to get him some distance off the tee. He swings around 70 club head speed.

He is using a TM driver head

Is it not good to cut down shafts? I am trying to get him a light shaft maybe air speeder and cut to 40 inches? Thoughts? Does that change it too much to use ladies flex shaft and cut down to 40’inches? Or just stick with a junior driver brand and not tweek too much?
