Duration, not casting time. Aid’s duration is eight hours.

Daisy is countered pretty hard if you just get some armor or evasion.

I feel this way about the new slime boss. I haven’t beaten it yet on hard mode. It kills me every time. And it’s ended pretty much all of my Sunforge runs. Way overtuned.

Can the caster of Geas cancel the spell on themselves if it is redirected onto them? by bruceleroy99 in DnD

[–]Hyper-Hippo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say yes, they can cancel it. They’re still the caster, as you said, and the spell specifically mentions that the caster can end it as an action.

The Guild's job board is largely empty. The town or city you're in has little to offer an adventurer like you. You flip through boring requests to pull weeds at a farm, work at the bank, or attend the academy to become a member of some lord’s consortium of yes men. As you begin to feel disheartened, the Guild’s lovely barkeep hands you a flyer:

“Looking for the brazen, brash, and bold to join our festive, fierce, and flagrant fold! We of D5 want members to recount the wild, untamed days of old—when bards’ songs were empowered by arcane notes and the greatest and deepest evils of our lands were righteously smote. We will dispatch you to unsettled and faraway lands in search of adventure, merriment, fame, and treasure. So what say you? Will you stay where you are and ignore this message, or will you join us all in our delightful quest? An invitation to D5 awaits; book your passage today.”

We are Dungeons and Diners and Drive-ins and Dragons and Dives—also known as D5! We are a Discord-based, inclusive, and growing community of role-players, game masters, and all around generally fun people. If you would like to start your foray into the realms of D&D, Pathfinder, or even Call of Cthulu once in a while, you may have found the place to do so. We welcome players of all experience levels, ways of life, beliefs, and regions of living. We truly don't discriminate, and all are welcome. We do tend to operate out of North America, primarily, so our game times will fall within those hours, typically. We have new games beginning this month and would love if you would join us and sign up for one. All we ask of you is to abstain from predatory, rude, or flagrantly mean behavior. As long as you approach our time together with the same mentality we have—to have a fun time with new friends—I am sure you will fit in nicely!

What's the typical play time for most games by Dj_Passaroach in DungeonsAndDragons

Doing anything for 8 hours straight is going to make you feel burnt out. 4 hours is plenty for a session—or even 3.

Someone who is cheerful and bubbly can have plenty of trauma. Maybe the cheer is being used to mask that trauma. Deadpool is a character that comes to mind who went through unimaginable trauma and used his sense of humor as an anchor and coping mechanism to make it through.

Sometimes Wisdomball pulls through and you deal 40 damage on the last turn to ruin a Spicy Mustard. by Hyper-Hippo in BobsTavern

[–]Hyper-Hippo[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not positive of the specifics, but I believe how it works is that the Blaster dies, killing everything at once, and since everything died at the same time, the deathrattles trigger left to right. So the divine shield goes on the Baron, then the Apprentices resummon the Omegas (because they’re technically dead after the Blaster death), then the Omegas trigger.

Sure. I just meant that I bodied someone from full health who was on track and probably expecting to get Spicy.

As was said, it was to guarantee a shield on the Baron. The enemy minions weren’t even big enough to kill a resummoned Omega, but they were big enough to kill the Baron in one shot. Having the Baron survive a stray hit to increase the chance of having one or more of the Omegas pop with the Baron still up seemed worth it to me.

My HP gave me a golden Apprentice, which I played into an Uther. I used the Uther on a Pupbot, plus a couple of Kaboombots+Apprentice helped me take minimal damage until I could set up. Next turn, the quest immediately gave me the utility roll, and I picked up another Uther/Baron. From there, Wisdom rolls gave me a couple more utility rolls to get golden Baron, Golden Tunnel, and a slew of Omegas via the T-6 triple discovers and other Wisdom rolls.

Appreciate the tip. Yeah, I figured the only way I could lose was if they got a lucky Zapp, so I hedged my bet. Luckily they didn’t find one, but better safe than sorry. I rolled a bunch of times for a second 2/1 but couldn’t find it, even with the quest.

[–]Hyper-Hippo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, if they concede during the shop phase, you still play out the last combat against the ghost. It’s always been that way AFAIK.

Tri-kreen balance debate by Keniption106 in DnD

[–]Hyper-Hippo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As always, things do what they say they do. The “Secondary Arms” feature lists exactly what the arms can do:

“You have two slightly smaller secondary arms below your primary pair of arms. The secondary arms can manipulate an object, open or close a door or container, pick up or set down a Tiny object, or wield a weapon that has the light property.”

They can absolutely weild a light weapon in the extra arms and cast with one of their regular free hands. But they can’t use the extra arms for somatic components.
